Outside of Disney, it’s rare to see RCT parks that are branded with a company name. Paramount’s Xtreme, by zburns999, is the first Paramount labeled park to grab a New Element award. With 11 coasters on a 200x200 map, this is also one of the larger projects lately. Thankfully for us, zburns999 pushed through 23 months of construction and we’re now presented with a high quality, realistic park. Although the park requires Wacky Worlds to view, it is certainly worth the download for those who have it installed.

    Please post your comments below.

Congratulations zburns999. Happy to see that you got a nice piece of recognition for your park. Nice to watch it for over the last year and see it get done.

I remember when you started it and I was thinking it was going to be a flop, but you totally turned it around and made my impression the complete opposite. I may just have to install WW to see this bad boy. Thanks for the Christmas present. :)

Just when I feel delighted to see a park that had me anticipated for several months, I come to realise I can't view it without WW.
    Talking about an anticlimax...

Anyhow... congrats, zburns999, for finishing this fabulous and truely inspiring park.

It was a pleasure to get a chance to do the review to this park. I've always been a fan of these parks with a lot of coasters that aren't overdone with theming. Like it said in the readme, I can see lots of influences from SFWoE and Premier Amusement park, both great examples of the realistic park style. This one was fun to looks over, and I'm hoping that anybody with WW takes the time for it. Maybe one of these times somebody can use ParkDat to replace those objects with the custom versions...

A questions about the coaster choices:
Everything seemed to be pretty accurate to real world time and event stuff, although I'm wondering about Demon. Was that supposed to be on the line of the Great America ones? Since those were Marriott decisions...
Besides that, some good stuff in there... I'm impressed with the speed Racer kept on the layout and I really like how you did the helixes on Son of Beast... they flowed really well despite having to be giant and angled.

Anyway, nice job and congrats on the win.

This park deserves a lot more attention than it's getting now..
It's a great realistic park, along the lines of Premier Amusement Park and SFWOE as mentioned, but does contain its own identity and creativity.. I can only applaud these kind of styles although I like more densely themed styles too..

If anyone needs the WW expansion, PM me with your e-mail address and I can send it... It's certainly worth it!

Oh, and congrats zburns! You deserved it..

I think that the park is getting plenty of attention, but that nobody can download it. I myself am in a rather akward predicament of having the Wacky Worlds expansion pack but having the original game disc broken but the game still installed, thanks to a no-cd key which isn't compatible with Wacky Worlds. If somebody could help me out with this, I'll look at the park and write a full length review.

Well I knew this park was going to win this award from back when you first started advertising it. I had been looking forward to this park for a while, and its a well deserved win, zburns, so congrats. I have WW, so I am able to view it in game, but ill give a more detailed review at a later time.

    Thanks for the replies guys...

@JDP: Thanks man. What you say is totally true though. I improved so much over the two years I worked on this that I actually had to go back and renovate all of the earlier stuff.

@Corkscrew: I have a feeling that I'll be getting that a lot. Really though, I feel terrible for the people who would like to see this but can't. Not much WW scenery is in the bench though, so maybe someday it can be de-WW-ized. Thanks for the compliments though.

    @Levis: Haha. Thanks.

@CP6: I really can't stress how much I appreciate the review. I couldn't have asked for anything better. And I'm really pleased to know you enjoyed the park--as I hoped most of the realistic builders would. As for Demon, that's a damn good question. I really don't have an answer. As you said, Demon is a Mariot staple coaster. I do know that, but I guess I never put two and two together. I guess the same thing goes for the double decker carousel, eh?

@Six Frags: Thanks a lot man. It means a lot to hear it coming from such a great parkmaker. Glad to hear you have WW on hand too...you're one of the few.

@Ge-Ride: That's an odd situation. I look forward to hearing your review when you work things out though.

@ride_exchanger: Thanks r_e. I look forward to hearing your review also.

Thanks again for the replies everyone.

    Congrats!
From the screens, this is looking a great park!.

When I began playing RCT2 in 2005, I had WW installed.
Changing to a new computer, I have not anymore, and up till now I did not find the time to re-install it , so I have not looked at the park in-game in yet.

I made my first park with (just a few) WW-things also, completely unaware that by doing so many people would not be able to view it, and not having a clue to how I could make it WW-free afterwards.
For me it was Tyandor who offered to make my park WW-free (still thankfull forever to him for that!).

In the meantime,by now I could do that myself, so if (for time-issues) it are not tons of WW-scenery/rides you used, and if you are interested, give me a pm and I will give it a try to UN-WW it.

    Congrats Zburns999! :mantis:

First off, I will say that I have WW, so I was able to enjoy the park. What I loved most was that it wasn't riddled with complex buildings and incredibly detailed buildings. Instead, you have quite a few great coasters, Entropy being my personal favorite. It had a smooth layout, and some elegantly blended inversions. I thought that Grizzly was a bit sloppy, and I didn't like the high angle lift. The station gave off a nice vibe though! My second favorite coaster in the entire park was the Italian Job Stunt Track. It was a nicely themed ride that I just had to enjoy more than once! Unfortunately, it crashed after the 3rd time around. :'( My 3rd place favorite would have to be Bat. It had a pretty good layout a really nice station. I liked the way you utilized the Intamin track, too. You get bonus points for that! The water rides were all very nice. Especially Class 6. I think you could've expanded a bit on the Flinstone's water ride. Maybe space out the track a little. It seemed cramped.

One of the most amusing things was the naming of the staff. It was actually an accedent that I found the tiger on parole in the Storytime Circle. I laughed and decided to check out the rest, and I continued to laugh. Although you named one of them Judice Priest, and it should be Judas Priest. (Sorry, I'm a big fan of Priest. :p) I also noticed that Mr. Brownstown was part of the cleaning crew. ;) And you can't forget Burger Meister Meister Burger (from Santa Claus Is Coming To Town).

If it wasn't for WW (quite possibly one of the worst expansion packs ever made), I think this would've been Spotlight worthy. I'll definitely be looking at this again from time to time. Again, congrats, and I hope to see more work from you in the near future! :mantis:

Well I spent several hours viewing this park, watching the peeps ride the rides, helping them when they get lost  I had to add a few "shortcut paths" to ensure they wouldn't get lost anymore, but the overall peep-friendliness is a big plus.

I think the best coaster was probably Entropy, except for the high lateral g's thru the corks at the end, it was a good layout.

Good call on adding the kinds of coaster that are not glamorous but make a park complete IMO, like the Mack Mouse and the Intamin Impulse coaster. There is generally not alot of creativity involved if you are going to make a "realistic" version of either of these, but they are import to the overall feel of the park nonetheless.

The working double station on the log flume was nice, I still haven't bothered to learn how that hack is done, so its quite impressive to me

IJ:ST was very well themed, good job there. But one coaster that I thought was under-themed was Thunder Run. That whole area of the park seemed to be overcrowded with rides and not enough scenery, but it doesn't detract from the park too much, hence the Blockbuster win ;)

As others have said, Bat was another good coaster. But I thought the John Allen racers could have done with alittle more layout variation, too many consecutive humps IMO. I guess this is another case where realism took precedence, though.

Overall great job, zburns, congrats on the win! :D

    Thanks everyone.

Emergo: Thanks for the kind words. Oh, and I really appreciate your offer to help me out with the Wacky Worlds. I'll deffinitely take you up on that offer. I'll PM you this weekend about it.

Xin: I really appreciate the full review man. Glad to see you caught the staff names too. I didn't really think anybody would notice. Most of them were either inside jokes, combinations of book titles on my bookshelf, or guitar hero songs my brother was playing while I worked on the park haha. And I'm ashamed that I mispelled Judas Priest (Electric Eye ftw). Thanks again for the review.

r_e: Again, thanks for the nice review. It's really cool to know that people are enjoying the park. Glad to hear you worked out some shortcuts too. I realized after I sent the park to Kumba that the far Ol' 49er station had no entrance and exit queue. I assume you fixed that one up haha. Also, peeps seemed to have a great deal of trouble finding Nuclear and Thunder Run. I spent way too much time observing the few peeps that actually made it to the back of the park haha.

    Thanks again.

This is one of those parks that I wish I had WW for as it looks to be a blast to explore. Your rapids ride alone looks very interesting.

Sorry I can't add anything more to the feedback other than congrats on the BB!

Sorry to bring this back up, but if anyone is interested, Emergo was kind enough to de-WW-ize Paramount's Xtreme, so now everyone should be able to view it. Thanks again Emergo. The download link can be reached below or in my signature. Thanks.

Thanks to Emergo's efforts at converting this, I now had the chance to take a look at this, and let me say, I really had a lot of fun looking at this zburns999! IMO some bits of theming (or Grizzly) were not aesthetically appealing, but the fun factor made up for it. I thought all the coasters were really well done and Paramount-like. My favorite coaster was Entropy, though I thought all the coasters offered guests with many options. I would have liked to see a bit more detail in some of the archcitecture, and a bit more time put into some of the foliage, but overall this park was enjoyable and very deserving of blockbuster. This would make for an interesting park in real life.

Too bad the peeps are stupid and get lost throughout the park.. lol when I was done looking at this park my park rating had dropped to 0!

I look forward to seeing more from you; this park has provided me with a much needed little bit of inspiration to start playing around with this game a bit more.
  • zburns999%s's Photo
Hey, thanks a lot man. Glad to hear you enjoyed it and were able to take some inspiration from it. Your right about the peeps too. In the WW-free version the rating drops to zero pretty fast, but I put on the happy peeps cheat so they don't complain. I'm going to work harder on peep-friendliness in my next park.
