    Slob Parkmaker Page

Only a day after crowning John the newest parkmaker at NE, that title now belongs to the one they call slob (no capital B ;-)). It's pretty interesting that these two 'competing' parkmakers decided to use competing park chains in the same contest. Either a clever competition between the two of them, or just a strange coincidence. Just like John, slob has that certain class that makes his parks beautiful. His style somewhat resembles that of sacoasterfreak almost, where he knows just how much polish to slap on before stopping. His stuff is 'tastefully done', and the result of that is a beautiful experience that doesn't overwhelm you with unnecessary foliage or theming objects. His coaster skills are definitely there as well, an area that he has the advantage over his new fellow associate John. As for the park itself, it's beautiful. The entrance area is easily my favorite area of the park (funny, because I was disappointed when I saw his screenshot originally). The Jurassic Park area is just right (although strikingly similar to voodoo's entry), and the medievel area looks exactly like it could be "Legends RCT2" (taken from Corkscrewed). Slob was the only non parkmaker to make it into the top ten, so congrats slob and once again, welcome to the team!

    I'm missing an object. :(

Congratulations on being 'promoted' parkmaker! It's always great to see new RCT2 parkmakers!

    Raven'ed...

I loved this park. It's stylish, it's architecture is one of a kind (he actually raises land in there) and the hacked coaster was atleast very very interesting. Then the other coaster had all the inversions themed to fit. I loved the way the coasters were themed to the extreme, trying to make every turn exciting but it remained with a pretty calm atmosphere. The archy was much much better than any previous entry i've seen. The flowers did there work even better than in john's entry (tho my favs are still in Kumba's dino area) This settles right on the top of my list and there's all the reasons to it, but all in all, 'tis just better.

    If... WME would have judged

I loved it. The architecture was excellent. The foliage was excellent. The landscaping was excellent. And the rides were excellent.

It all came together very nicely indeed, and that hacked coaster worked really well. The best entry so far IMO.

    Absolutely awesome park.

Just to get the negatives out the way... I think the paths were a bit too wide, especially in ports of call, which detracted from the atmosphere that the real thing has. Also, I thought your themes weren't that diverse, especially the etrance and lost camelot, and the intamin looper was a bit slow in places.

That said, the foliage work was superb, the intamin was well pulled off, the invert was excellent, best coaster of the pro tour so far imo, the park was well composed, but still kept your attention which was a quality lots of people thought John's was lacking. The lighthouse was done superbly, and I know this is barely mentioned (imo it should be, a lot more), the music was set perfectly - almost every corner of ever area was covered in the appropriate music. That's attention to detail.

Congrats in being the highest non-parkmaker, and now of course your deserved parkmaker spot slob. I didn't think you were ready before I saw this, but I was wrong.

The architecture was excellent, foliage and landscaping was very good, and the rides were awsome. I really liked the Invert and Intamin coasters the most. The Intamin was a little slow in places but was still very good and the invert was the best in the tour Imo. The only complaint I have is the paths are too wide, other than that, amazing work Slob and congrats on getting in the top 10.

Also, congrats on getting parkmaker, you deserve it. I have always liked your work and I knew it was a matter of time before you got parkmaker.
I'm glad to see NE is finnaly getting more parkmakers, that is really good to see after awhile of not seeing any new ones. I wonder who will be next....

Excellent park, slob. It really was fun to look through and my favourite part was how everything had its own little banner (bones in the jurassic area!) which meant I knew what everything was. The main rides were brilliant, but overshadowed by their amazing queue lines and interaction - it's like kiri, but in rct2. Brilliant.

Well done slob, and I hope Raven explains himself on this one, cos he nearly -ve high level pyroed you, and that's some serious pyroing (-7!)

Once again, I'm missing that Pemky object... 8@

Here's what's happening. When I try to save it in my RCT2's Data folder, it says I don't have permission to put it there. Nothing works so far... help would be greatly appreciated.
  • mantis%s's Photo
Is it only on these two that you're having problems? Cos it should be fine if you'd d/led the other parks...hmmm.

Nice park sloB, I liked this thing, mostly the coasters, Pendragon was amazing great hacks, infact I was suprised how well you do hack. The Invert was also a good coaster, I like the Nemesis style ones, but it had a few parts I did not like such as the fast 180 turn arounds underground. The rapids were ok, tho the themeing was kinda corny imo, but the layout was good.

When I tried to take it apart I found that this park was really very simple, kinda Posix like ;) nothing to speciel, id call it "nice" but its really a step up from that, I think "kinda beautiful" fits this park well. overall a great entry, with a near perfect atmospher congrats on the spot solB! :D
  • gymkid dude%s's Photo
very good and very deserving. And this guy can actually design coasters :-p!
  • Jacko Shanty%s's Photo
I loved this park. Your coaster designs were great (something I have trouble with) and that rapids ride was one of the best I've ever seen. You and John build a lot alike. I noticed you both had the same idea to build boat gates for your water rides out of coaster track - something I'd never seen before until now. The landscaping, especially in the Jurassic Park area, was perfect. I also loved the lighthouse you made with the mine train track as steps - very creative. Pendragon was an awesome coaster, especially with all of the twists.

Great park overall, and the only downside is that it was a mini park. I hope you make a larger release soon.

This is one of those parks that just begs to be looked through again and again. Pendragon and Pteradon were both awesome. Definately my favorite yet.
  • Valp%s's Photo
I downloaded all of the other parks... it's just these two that I've had trouble with.
  • X250%s's Photo
Nice park, very clean and i could not find a single mistake anywhere. I loved the intamin looper, very well hacked.
  • Scarface%s's Photo
Well done slob, great park and the best so far.
    Well deserved parkmaker spot also.
  • Kevin%s's Photo
Beautiful job slob. Definately the best entry so far.

My favorite area would have to be the Juarrasic Park area. The invert had a great look to it and I like how it dived in and out of the landscape. The sitting areas added a nice touch of realism and gave a more quaint look to things. The rapids were great also.

The entrance was nice, nothing amazing or bad about it, just nice. It wasn't overdone, and it wasn't too plain either.

The Lost Camelot section was nice also. I personally hate these kind of sections, just not a theme I enjoy, and I hate the games medieval music. But, I thought it was great for what it was. I loved Pendragon. It really reminded me of Collosus with the hacked in-line twist and giga coaster track. I liked the colors to.

Overall, I loved this park. Definately deserves to be in the top 10, and congrats on your parkmaker spot!

I think he gets back today (slob's been gone on vacation if I remember correctly), so this should be a great present. Guess you don't miss it after all! :D

You know I love your work, slob, and this is another reason why. Congrats on a fine craft!
