Well, in an attempt to bring RCPro's gaming section back to it's glory days, I and the rest of the staff ran a small H2H inspired contest, called The RCPro Summer Showdown. There were four teams of four competing over six rounds. Unlike H2H though, there's no voting or a win/loss record, so all standings are based on the accumulation of judges' scores throughout the rounds.

My team, The Goodfellas, has been eliminated, so I figured I might as well release our parks here. I personally worked on City of God and Midnight Mist Theme Park along with my other team members, but I can't take any credit for the other two entries.

Below are the links to the downloads and screen shots of all four of our parks. Enjoy...

Final results for the contest should be released by September 4, for anybody who's interested.

Some of that work looks bloody excellent, and some quite wierd lol. May well have to download some of them later.

Wow. Those screens look stunning, I'd hate to sound naive but I never knew there were that good of parkmakers outside of NE and to a lesser extent RCT2.com. I'm downloading now, I'll post more comments after I check these out.

Yeah...those parks look quite nice. My favourites are Village Vesuvius and Midnight Mist Theme Park...although you got eliminated, you made a great job.

    Thanks for the comments guys...

@super rich: Thanks man. And yeah, part of the reason we're not still in the contest is because some of our stuff was viewed by the judges as being a little weird.

@eman: Thanks. You'd be surprised how many great parkmakers really keep to themselves. Eyeamthu1 (Alex Harris), who I had the privelage of working with in Midnight Mist Theme Park, just completed a huge resort park, comparable to Supreme Screamer's Premier Park, and also just finished a damn accurate Stealth re-creation. I don't know why he doesn't post here, but I can deffinitely talk to him and the rest of my team.

@RCFanB&M: Thanks. The two parks you mentioned were actually the two that scored the highest out of our four.

@Gwazi: I'll deffinitely talk to them.

Again, thanks for the replies. I know that one of the other teams has a few guys who are members here, one who posts under the name "Vekoma9," so he'll probably release his team's stuff here when the contest is over.

I always was fond of what your team put out. Its a shame you got eliminated, the finals would be much more exiting with your team competing against ours.

I might release my teams parks later today.

I was lucky enough to actually go to Vesuvius this summer, and the park looks nothing like the surrounding areas (Hercelaneum, Pompeii, or even Napoli - the biggest one in the area, even though not right up to it). This doesn't mean it was a bad park or anything, but maybe a better choice of naming would have been nice there, instead of just naming it after the most famous volcano in the world.

With that said, in my opinion the best ones are City of God and Midnight Mist. The wall on the outside made City of God go from a nice park to a really good one. I'm not sure why I like Midnight Mist so much, but it just really appealed to me.

City Of God & Midnight Mist look absolutely rude! Gonna have to check them later. :)

    Tell them to come here.

    Im already here. :p

Well guys, I am in fact Curly from RCPro if you didnt know yet. lol

I am planning on doing some much more RCT2 work soon and plan on being on this awesome site much more longer.
The parks I worked on, Village Vesivius and Busch Gardens Lost Paradise, were very fun to make. I made most of BGLP and about 50% of VV. Village Vesuvius was the hardest for me to work on. Since eyeamthu1 had a very complex style of park making and I like to keep my Style simple. And it really showed since I did the section of the park which looked very plain compared to the other side. I am not embarrased to say that but rather proud to have been able to work with eyeamthu1, who produces some very good work and am suprised that does not post here.
