looks even better than i rembember, i like the foliage you have got there, but i do think that you should consider changing the colour of the flowers and maybe put in one tree that is a bit darker than the rest, also i think a cactus would look good here, not one of those wildwest ones but the ones you can find in the jungle tab

    edit: who voted this 5%?

  • Coasterbill%s's Photo

First of all like GDB said... who rated this screen (unless it was some kind of inside joke)? I gave it 100 to bump it up a little, normally I wouldn't vote based on other votes but 5% on this is insulting.

I think this is great, the sitting area doesn't really do it for me (no railing on the end?) but everything else is flawless. Are you planning to stream this again soon?

  • trav%s's Photo

I voted this 5% just to see if I could vote on my own thing haha. It didn't come up that I'd voted on it on the main page when I went back so I've just seen that it actually recognised it now, oops. I'll take it away, Bill if you could change your vote as well that'd be good :) Weirdly, it actually shows up that I voted it at 2.5% on my screen. I think I broke it...

Yeah I'll get around to changing the flowers, although I'm still not sure what colour to go for. As for cactus's, I'm not completely sold on that idea I'm afraid. Maybe over towards the rapids it might work.

The sitting area does have a railing on the end in that the railing is the wall :) It might just be the perspective here but the brick wall on the end is the same height as the turrets next to it, so act as a 'railing' in that sense.

I might get into streaming this again next week, we'll have to see.

Oh lol, okay vote updated. I'd never heard of someone giving their own screen a terrible rating.

I like the foliage as is but I suck at foliage so ignore me on that one. I thought it was one of the best parts of the screen though.

great brown stuff man. i like the foliage.

Brown is love. Brown is life.

    ^Truth.

The front page has gone far too long without a screen from trav. This is lovely. I do agree that the tropical tree needs to be darker but the purple flowers work for me. I do feel that you need something else purple somewhere in the screen to balance it out, though. Right now it's a brownaganza with this bright, colorful, luscious foliage patch in the middle.

Brown is the best color in this game.

    This looks really great.

Ling, when you say tropical tree, do you mean the palm? I was having difficulties choosing a colour for the palm trees across the map, so settled on this because it looks the most sun-kissed.

As for the foliage, this was just the first section of foliage I did on the whole map, just to get a feel for how I wanted it to be. Other sections around here will be as luscious and green as this, so hopefully it won't look toooooo odd.

And for those worried about the amount of brown; it's just what I picked up on from pictures of Catalonia, and then my subsequent visit there. The buildings are very very brown. I know this is Rct and we gotta change up the colours, but I've got Oakwell Hall for that, which has wacky and weird colours across the whole park. This is my project on the side, where I'm using more subdued colours.

The cabbage tree on the left side.

Because it's a wingrider I would suggest having the catwalk for the launch a quarter tile further out [I would have used xtreme's catwalk objects but I can understand why you'd want to do something different].

I'd argue that you're probably the best at texture on the site. Would be nice to see some more colour added to the umbrella's though; perhaps the dull red(?)

  • FK+Coastermind%s's Photo

I still think this could use some more color, but the details and farm are top notch, really well done.

Very nice. Great buildings and foliage work. Lots of cool stuff to look at. Especially love the bridge though, and the tower it leads into is fantastic. Only wish is that the coaster track flowed a little better than those two 90 degree turns in the water (if it's a rapids then I think it'd be nicer invisible with railings on the side).

  • trav%s's Photo

Stoksy, I'll have a play around with the catwalk, but if I remember correctly I started it out a tile wider and it just looked odd. But yeah, I can't remember what it looked like completely so I'll try again. And thanks about the texture, texture adds a lot in my opinion so I fuss about it quite a lot! Changing the umbrella colours might help inject a little colour as well.

FK, the only problem is that I don't want these buildings to be too colourful. This is supposed to be in the 'old section' of the design, as in the buildings are meant to look historical and like they've been there a fair while, like an old Catalonian village. There's another section of the map where there's a harbour type area where the details on the buildings are more colourful, so you might prefer that :)

Thanks That Guy :) It is a rapids ride, but I'm having issues with it so I haven't turned the track invisible yet.

one of the best projects going.
  • FK+Coastermind%s's Photo

I get you don't want it to be super colorful, but some color will help vary it i think. Or maybe simply taking the brown colors you have and trying to shade them more across the buildings, rather than having single buildings all one color, have them look a little more pieced together. but i do get what you are aiming at, and like i said, it's looking wonderful.

    very strong

Flowers, brighter umbrellas, awnings, and flags could all add some color to this without removing the historic, rustic feel.
