Needs another tag: "bushes are not a theme".

Great start, the textured walls are executed really well. Now it just needs some colour and life.

Texture work is okay, and I can certainly appreciate the use of mesh fence as a protective barrier against worn/broken walls.

But god damn, brown up to the eyeballs. I can appreciate the use of brown as much or possibly more than the next person, it's usually always a solid colour to use BUT when you're got an entire screen worth of the same exact brown then it's really unappealing. Get some market stalls in there, some planters, a fountain maybe, and consider adding a non-brick/solid texture to the walls.

Whats with everyone and the insane dosis of brown?

too blocky and brown. but still "good"

Doesn't really strike me as something Venetian/Istrian. Though everything is brown, it looks cold and lifeless. Aren't most roofs radiating orange and tiled? Not brown wood? And I think the castle walls will look better in grey.

I agree with Pizza that it's too blocky. Straight lines and corners are okay, but make it looks like a design choice rather than a limitation of the game. Work on the turrets, windows and arches to perfection. Don't fortresses in that regio have cool ornamented turrets? Round or ocatagonal maybe? These look like backyard shacks.

    The barrels are too much.

    The broken stairway is great.

    Good theme/setting, good start! Potential!

Change the colors of some of the barrels, the burgandy red, certain greens, gray, black, the other browns all look good. I'd also mix in some crates instead of having it be solid masses of barrels. I'd also suggest cutting it down to 2-3 piles total, and adding some gardens, potted plants, shops/stalls, weapons, machinery, riggings, whatever else you can think of. I think the weakest part of this is definitely the barrel spam.

Cool ideas with the stairs and patched up holes though.

As others have said, it's very blocky and brown.  But for some reason, I don't seem to mind it that much.  Break up the brown with some flowers, barrels, scenery, etc. and it'll look great.  I really like this screen.  Nice job.
