This screen is fantastic, but I hope someone can redo that ghost sprite for you.

This is a pretty incredible screen, and I can totally see all the elements from the different tracks. Fantastic work!

    Rad.

Perhaps change the monorail track to something a bit more fitting to the theme of the park.  The bare grey rail is a bit of a immersion breaker.  Rest is fantastic.

Not sure what ghost you're referring too, I'm guessing you mean Lakitu. But most "Super Mario" custom objects are ported frames from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (SNES).

Agreed with G Force on the monorail. I would also personally forego the spikey trees in lieu of maybe some taller palms but otherwise this is great.

Never played Mario Kart before. First thing i thought of when I saw the screen was Lego Stunt Rally though...

    Good work, sure feels deserty!

It looks great. I love Mario Kart, just only the first version for SNES which I actually still play. I have never played another version. I doubt I'll be able to connect with this park, but I do know solid RCT and this is some of it for sure :)

Interested to also see the concept of the whole park, is it just go karts? Or is there just 1 go kart track in each area and then coasters and flats to go with it?

Thanks for the comments, glad this park is being well received so far. Since I've started I haven't lost an ounce of motivation, it's been tons of fun so far! I'm totally excited to go in this direction for a park.

@G-Force: I'll play with the monorail track colors in the future, we'll see what comes of it. Any suggestions?

@Louis: Basic concept is on my project page: http://www.nedesigns...t-all-cup-tour/

The touches of gold are great, I think that the best way to address the monorail 'problem' is actually by not having one. Yes it's a park, but I don't think the monorail will ever really fit too well. If you really want to keep it, then maybe go with a brown and complementary colours for different areas?

I'd also maybe try to do something more with the land texture (especially when using the 1/4tile objects), just be aware of those objects resulting in textural repetition which I don't think looks great in large areas. Perhaps breaking it up with a textured roof object coloured brown would work better.

Still, fantastic screen. Kind of unfortunate it will only be go kart tracks but I nonetheless admire the project concept.

Wow this is kind of amazing. I hope the macro is working.

  • bigshootergill%s's Photo

@stoksy: The monorail is definitely staying, so I'll try out some different color choices. As for the land textures, the upper corner still needs some work, so that will be improved in the future.

@nin: My macro always sucks! :( Is it really possible that I can improve with this park? :D

I love you for making this! Looks incredible!

This looks great! Never has such a light brown screen been such fun to look at. The train interaction is a lovely touch, and I like the way you made those... spiky ball creature things.

Outstanding theming quality. This is kind of Star Wars episode 1 pod racer style.

    Love it.
