Aaah Sam.... beautiful voice, beautiful accent, beautiful content. Love you so much.

So nice how you included the Gaussian curve nature about foliage rise that many beginners are yet too insensible towards. Same for the fact that people shouldn't see shrubs as separate from trees. Greenery is always greenery belonging together if used for natural foliage like here. Also made me think it would be great if the ORCT2 people could add a feature that sorts scenery by height to boost people's awareness of vertical visual impact their objects will have (looking at you and your tall trees Liam). You then do a lot of things instinctively right without talking about them, like the balance between skinny and very fluffy trees, and how they need to fill sightlines, or the fact that you're trying to keep each tree type equidistant from each other.

I'm not so keen on the zero-clearancing bit. It just feeds people into developing a micro-obsession and never finishing parks. The oldschool skill here is to hide the tree trunks well. Behind buildings, fences, smaller (fluffier) trees, shrubs, etc. Or even more interesting: hide them with grass texture that's so green it blends with the foliage. It's not so easy though and needs acute aesthetic attention.

What's amazing is how you make so many different tree types and colours work together. Just your talent. Not sure a lot of people will be able to emulate this.

I actually never thought of placing down the taller trees first, I guess this just goes to show how bad I am at foliage. :p

Yeah, great video, helped me a lot! I'm sure it'll help a lot of beginners as well, so long as it gets advertised enough.

Wonderful stuff, Sam. Technique is solid and you did a great job speaking throughout and making sure you explained everything very well.

I would've preferred maybe not making your tree selection so random in the video. I know why you did it, but a beginner not paying attention might just see this as okay when it's not. I would like to see different examples such as something you'd see in an arid climate, forested, etc.

Regardless, very good! More of these, please.
