Shock, the big coaster of the park. Beautiful, isn't it ?

    Hey everybody,

Me and my bf spent 5 days in Rome and we decided to visit one park. We decided to go to Rainbow Magicland instead of Cinecitta World because the last one only has 1 major roller coaster and I already rode its copy at Thorpe Park. I will try to make this trip report as short as possible.

We took the bus shuttle from Roma Termini. It's very poorly indicated and the A/R costs 20€.

We arrived at 10h20 and it was a surprise to see that the park was empty on a sunny saturday.

Yay ! Park is empty. Sorry for the upcoming shitty pictures by the way. Here is the beautiful mainstreet.

I directly went on Shock, because I was afraid it could close later. We never know in this kind of parks...

    SHOCK

Shock was amazing. It's a 0-100km/h launched roller coaster and I can truly say it's quite punchy. The first camelback offers a strong airtime. Then comes the non inverted loop, I thought it was going to be more forceful but it's still a fun element. Once you exit the non inverted loop, you go through a very forceful tight turn, that almost made me pass out. The car slowly finishes its course through a very appreciable inline twist. Too bad the coaster is too short, but it's still very enjoyable. 3,5/5

    OLANDESE VOLANTE

It's basically just a copy of Calamity Train at Walibi. It wasn't as uncomfortable as I expected it to be, it's quite a fun ride and has its place in a park like this one. Too bad there isn't much scenery one you pass the entrance.

    2,5/5

    CAGLIOSTRO

This coaster has the reputation to be pretty useless, because once you pass the beautiful front of the building, there is nothing. The inside is just a dark room with 0 effects. I wouldn't be that tough, it was still great fun for us, we love spinning coasters. The first drop is very surprising because you don't expect it to be that tall. It was my first time on a Maurer Söhne spinning coaster and it was a good discovery, I can't wait to ride better models. Hope the indoor scenery is coming soon. 3,5/5

    YUCATAN

Yucatan is incredible. The scenery is beautiful and the two drops are very effective. I'm not going to make a report on all the rides, but the park also has an amazingly themed river rapids ride and the scenery is also very well done. I didn't take pictures of it but that was spotlight level man. Shoot the Chute and River Rapids are a 3,5/5.

This is just a summary of my favorite rides, but the ride selection of the park is surprisingly great. It also has a very well themed splash battle and another "kiddie river rapids" in the child area of the park. I've also enjoyed some rides on Mystika, the 70m tall drop tower of the park. The park also has some secondary rides like Huntik 5D, a dark ride where you shoot at everything, it's pretty well done and scenery is on point, it's just that the 3D is terrible, too bad. Planeta Winx is a suspended dark ride themed about the Winx, some shit for 3 yo girls. It was very surprising another time for a park like Rainbow Magicland. Children love it and it was the ride with the longest waiting time, 10 min all day. The operators laughted at us when they saw 2 fully grown adults in the queue :Maison Houdini was my first mad house. The effects are surprising but here the park has a lot of stuff to do to make it more immersive. I have the same feeling everywhere in the park, some rides are great but aren't very cohesive as a whole.

The park also offers tons of shows during the day : stunt shows, 3D movies in their theaters, a lot of animations, etc.. It's also another surprising point for a park that has the reputation of slowly dying.

    Conclusion:

And here we are. Yeah, no doubt the park is on a slippery slope. Most of the scenery is great (at least on the left side of the park) but is very damaged. There hasn't be any refurbishment since a lot of time apparently. The park hasn't found its public : there was 0 min waiting time on all the rides during all day, paths were empty. It's good for us but not for the park I guess.

There's this atmosphere in the park of letting go. It's like they only do the strict minimum to keep it alive, like if they are waiting for a miracle. Park employees are mostly interested into looking at their phones than checking the lap bars. Yes, they don't touch it, they wait everybody is seated and they launch the ride. The only thing to do if your lap bar isn't blocked is to cry and prepare to face death.

Except all of this, we spent a great day here, mostly because there was no queue and because we don't visit a lot of theme parks, we always try to be positive and enjoy the things we do as much as possible. :)

Except the bus shuttle forgot us for the return, at 6pm. Nobody from the park was here to help us. We were a small group of 15 person, with underaged children of 3yo probably. We tried to have more information at the park but they said it wasn't them that deal with the bus. Someone from the group found the bus company number and they didn't know where the bus driver was. We waited 2 hours in the cold until a bus arrived. The children were almost crying because they were freezing. No apologies from anyone. The bus was supposed to go to Roma Termini but the bus driver stopped in a random street in Roma. Everybody had to get off the bus without any explanation. He then lighted on a cigarette and disappeared. Hopefully we had a map of Roma and we arrived at home at 22h. That's truly pathetic.

I don't know what to think of this park because my thoughts are very contradictive. Fuck you Rainbow Magicland but we spent a good day at your place.

Here are some random pictures of the park :

Huntik 5D, a shooting dark ride. Some people say it's particularly great but for me the 3D really ruined it.
