    Substitution:

Scoop has dropped out of the game.  He has been replaced by Julow.  The Objectives for Round 1 & 2 are also to be completed by the end of Round 3.  Builder Cards are also transferred over to Julow.

    Due Date Extension:

In light of the substitution and bugs with the OpenRCT version of the server, which caused my own issues logging into the server, we will be extending Round 3 deadline:

Due Date: Sunday, March 29, ~6:00 PM EST.

    End of Iron Age:

The Iron Age saw the prominence of Guilds which dotted the land and brought wisdom, education, and artisanship to their home settlements.  As a new Builder who entered the Iron Age with to take over a settlement in shambles, Julow emerged as a strong contender for the greatest of the age.  However, it was Louis! and Liampie who rose to power in the Age of the Guilds.  Thanks to early establishment of trade, Leon and AVC also saw the benefits of the strength of these cities.  Several cities fell behind in the development, most notably Steve, whose city saw little to no progress.  Leon and Otter also found their cities lagging behind and entered the Dark Ages and the Age of War ill-prepared for the conflicts to come.  Only a few Builders utilized political strategies in this era: Louis! Used Preparations for Winter, however, he saw no Retributions coming regardless; KaiBueno formed a Courtesy Pact with Josh which protected the two from any Builder Cards.

    Rush Aggression:

As a preface for the days to come, Steve’s Rush Aggression against V1 backfired, with Steve being the lowest-ranked settlement of the Iron Age:

    1) Version1 may build two additional Houses (2x2 / 4 tiles)

    2) Steve must demolish one structure of his choosing.

    Results:

    1) Rewards: Louis!, Liam; (Trade Routes) Leon & AVC - receive Native Guilding AND Reinforcements in Times of Need.

    2) Retributions: Steve, Leon & Otter - choose Harbinger of the Dying OR Flash Flooding, Cold Front.

    3) Builder Cards: Louis! plays Preparations for Winter which had no effect; KaiBueno plays Courtesy Pact which also had no effect.

[Reminder: Native Guilding Rewards are listed in the Rulebook; I will be in contact with those who’ve received the Reward to discuss how they will be used.]

Round 4: Dark Age - Keep Your Friends Close…

It was the Age of War, when settlements and their leaders waged battle amongst each other, competing for power and dominance over the limited lands.  The African settlements were among the first to declare war, in an attempt to ransack those they believed they could conquer.  The settlements were divided, linked only by loose trade associations on the surface, but backed by deeper political alliances in the shadows.  Only the victorious settlements were left unscathed…

    Objectives:

    1) Build a Barracks (4x4 / 16 tiles)

    2) Build two of the following: Stable (4x4 / 16 tiles), Shipyard (4x4 / 16 tiles), Archery (4x4 / 16 tiles)

    3) Build two Houses (2x2 / 4 tiles)

Minor Objectives: Prepare military units about your settlement; you may build a Military Camp (4x4 / 16 tiles) outside your settlement, however this must be demolished after Round 4.

[Reminder: you may only build the structures given in the Objectives, from Rewards/Retributions, or from Builder Cards; you may add additional small details to your settlement, however.  You may also make minor landscaping changes about your settlement.]

    War:

We will now be entering War, which will start this Round and targets will be selected in a draft.  The order is given priority to the Africa Faction, who will be placed at the top of the draft.  Otherwise, the order is decided by Round 3 rank.  Each player will select a War Target, who is then removed from the draft and may not be selected by another player as a target.  This creates six pairs of settlements at war.  Rewards and Retributions will be determined by the higher-ranked player at war receiving Rewards and the lower-ranked player receiving Retributions.  Players may declare war on those linked by Trade Route.  Rewards distributed by Trade Routes will be unchanged, with players linked to the top 2 settlements receiving Rewards.

    Selection Order:

    1) Liampie (chooses CC9)

    2) Josh (chooses Bio)

    3) Otter (chooses Steve)

    4) Louis! (chooses KaiBueno)

    Reward:

    A) Foreign Guilding - receive the Reward as outlined by your specific Guild in the Rulebook (see page 1); AND (choose),

    B) Wall Builders - your settlement fortifies its limits with reinforced walls to prepare for any future attacks; you may enclose your settlement in Walls (1xN / 1 tile wide) as you see fit (may not encroach other settlements); OR,

    C) Arcane Protection - your settlement forgoes physical barriers to attack in favor of magical fortifications; you may sacrifice a Builder Card to undo Retributions you receive in Rounds 4 & 5, retroactively.

    Retribution: (choose)

    A) Defense Sacrifices - your settlement’s defenses were lost in the ensuing battles; demolish your Guard Tower and one additional military structure (Barracks, Stable, Shipyard, or Archery); OR,

    B) Pillaged and Harvested - your settlement was brutally pillaged during war and lost many of its residential and/or commercial foundations; demolish your Trading Post and two Houses.

    { Factions continue to be dissolved for Round 4, SIX players will Receive Rewards via War, and SIX players will receive Retributions via ranking (with Trade Routes, up to EIGHT players may receive Rewards) }

Due Date: Tuesday, April 14, ~6:00 PM EST.

[Reminder: Builder Cards played during Round 4 will impact the distribution of Rewards/Retributions above, taking effect in Round 5.]

    End of Dark Age:

The wars ended, and the lands slowly recovered from the burning remains.  After years upon years of conflict amongst the settlements on a military front, great military empires dotted the landscape.  Liampie defeated the Asian nation led by CC9; Biohazard leveled much of Josh's city during his siege; Otter handily defeated Steve's feeble settlement which had seen no expansion in ages; KaiBueno similarly triumphed over Louis who took a pacifistic approach; and, V1 saw victory over Leon who failed to expand.  However, trade routes allowed many of these defeated settlements to see the spoils of war, however these settlements do not receive Foreign Guilding.  The battle took place not just on land but in the political sphere - KaiBueno waged a Territory Skirmish on Louis, Liampie enacted a Courtesy Pact with KaiBueno, Josh attempted a Territory Skirmish on Liampie which was dodged via his pact, Louis! used a Peace Offering to Steve and Biohazard, AVC established a Detriment Bond on Liampie which was avoided via his pact (yet again), and CC9 started Preparations for Winter and avoided Retributions.

    Results:

    1) Rewards: Biohazard, Liampie, AVC, KaiBueno, V1 & Otter - receive Foreign Guilding AND Wall Builders OR Arcane Protection; (Trade Routes) Josh, Julow, Steve, CC9 & Louis! - receive Wall Builders OR Arcane Protection.

    2) Retributions: Josh, Louis!, Julow, Leon & Steve - receive Defense Sacrifices OR Pillaged and Harvested.

    3) Builder Cards: KaiBueno uses Territory Skirmish on Louis! who must choose one structure to destroy; Liampie uses Courtesy Pact with KaiBueno who are immune to Builder Card effects; Josh plays Territory Skirmish on Liampie which was cancelled above; AVC plays Detriment Bond on Liampie which was cancelled above; Biohazard plays Territory Skirmish on Josh who must choose one structure to destroy; Louis! uses Peace Offering for Steve and Biohazard who may each rebuild one previously lost structure (if any); CC9 plays Preparations for Winter which prevented Retributions for his settlement.

[Reminder: Foreign Guilding Rewards are listed in the Rulebook; please contact me if you are choosing Wall Builders OR Arcane Protection.]

Round 5: Imperial Age - And Your Enemies Closer..

After the dust settled from the wars which plagued the land for centuries, new technologies and innovations emerged which forged the way to great Industries to rise.  The settlements each became specialists in their area of industry based on natural resources and economic position.  What once was a competition of military might quickly turned into a battle of business and production.  However, with many suppliers of each industry, only few could prosper...

    Objectives:

    1) Build one Industrial Structure (as listed in the Rulebook) (5x5 / 25 tiles)

    2) Build two Secondary Industrial Structures (as listed in the Rulebook) (up to 6x6 / 35 tiles)

    3) Build two Houses (2x2 / 4 tiles)

Minor Objectives: some players have some work to finish - complete structures from previous rounds which have not been built yet; demolish structures per results of Round 3 & 4.

[Reminder: you may only build the structures given in the Objectives, from Rewards/Retributions, or from Builder Cards; you may add additional small details to your settlement, however.  You may also make minor landscaping changes about your settlement.]

    Industries:

This round we will be constructing Industries, of which there are three types - Agriculture, Lumber, and Mining.  Players will take turns selecting which Industry they wish to compete in, in the same manner as previously conducted.  Industries will represent those players are competing with for Rewards and Retributions - one player in each Industry will receive a Reward and one will face a Retribution.  There is no maximum number in each.

    11) Version1

    12) Leon

    Reward:

    1) Trust Consolidation - your settlement has dominated its Industry; build one additional Secondary Industrial Structure (up to 6x6 / 36 tiles); choose one player to demolish a Secondary Industrial Structure; OR,

    2) Side Hustle Industry - with the success of your Industry, your settlement establishes a secondary Industry; build one Industrial Structure (5x5 / 25 tiles) or one Secondary Industrial Structure (up to 6x6 / 36 tiles) of any type.

    Retribution:

    1) Abandon Industry - failure of Industry to thrive results in the loss of some of your industrial holdings; demolish one Secondary Industrial Structure; AND,

    2) Pestilence of Livestock - a plague has affected your flocks and spread throughout the livestock in your settlement; remove any scenery, rides, or stalls that represent an animal/livestock.

    { Factions continue to be dissolved for Round 5, THREE players will Receive Rewards via Industry, and THREE players will receive Retributions via Industry. }

Due Date: Wednesday, June 10, ~6:00PM EST

[Reminder: this is the last round with Objectives, and the last round you may play Builder Cards; at the conclusion of this round, Rewards and Retributions and Builder Card effects will be applied and a period of completing these will precede the final voting.]
