H2H9 / Head-2-Head-9: Rules & Sign-Ups

  • MCI%s's Photo

    What you could also get:
An incredibly unmotivated Lew that just can’t get into anything, resulting in just providing layouts, supports and a maybe a bit of foliage here and there.

I guess my spot is taken then?  :D

After thinking it through since V1 yelled at me to sign up the first time 200 years ago, I think I'm going to throw my hat in the ring.

    Type: player

    Game: Open RcT2 (NCSO)

Availability: Limited. I'm workng 40+ hours a week while studying fulltime. Maybe I'll quit my job if I get drafted, that would increase my Availability. I am on "University-tour" from 13-16th of june and not available  to build before april 16th due to exams.

    This is a bad idea.

  • Liampie%s's Photo

MCI, maybe your moment will finally come this H2H. There's a bigger market for NCSO now...

  • Mulder%s's Photo

    Role: Player

    Games: openRCT2, NCSO

Availability: Working every other weekend, other than that, very varied work-time. A bit burnt out on RCT atm, so probably best to have me as a replacement.

Goals: Learn more about RCT and have fun with some awesome builders.

Can send screens in DM of my previous works. Have entries in several contests on DKMP.

    Well, here goes nothing!

    Role: Player
    Games: OpenRCT2
Availability: I'm self-employed, so work greatly varies, but I usually have free time every day.
Goals: Return to the RCT community?  I've been gone for 15 years.  I was on staff at RCT Station, if anybody remembers that.  I've been lurking for almost a year, getting the hang of OpenRCT2 and playing around with ideas.  I can send screenshots of projects I've been working on to anyone interested.
Strengths: I've been mostly building realistic parks.  I've been doing a lot of binging of CedarPoint6's channel.  Love building wooden coasters.  I use a lot of the "standard" custom scenery objects.  I'm okay at buildings; a lot better if I'm using reference photos.  I can do basic hacking and shoe stringing.  I also like humor and sarcasm and have fifteen years of experience working in theme park entertainment at parks across the country.

  • Paeve%s's Photo
    Role: Player
    Games: Openrct2, mostly ncso
Avaliability: NA evenings, currently no long-term commitments.

I have a heavy strength in complex shoestringing and ride tech ability. Familiar with functioning dual stations and a wide array of custom flatrides.
I also consider landscaping to be a strength of mine. I do really well with layered gardens and outdoor nature areas. Scenery blending is something that I believe is important with team events and something that every team needs to succeed.
I am also expierenced in realistic layouts. I do a decent amount of research for each layout and try to make each of them something that I would love to ride myself.

I consider my main weakness building buildings. However I learn very quickly and every park I build the buildings look better and better.

    Captains

After careful consideration of all captain sign-ups, we are appointing as captains:

    inthemanual Steve In:Cities
    Tolsimir Liampie dr dirt

We will now approach the captains, and hope to find a draft date soon. It needs to suit schedules of all 6 captains and the admins, and thus might take a moment. We will announce in due time. Sign-ups for players will continue until the draft, and after will continue for the Replacement List.

Of course there were more members than the above six who volunteered for a captain role. It is never an easy decision for us to make, and we're sorry not everyone can be captain. We really appreciate your enthusiasm, and were humbled that some of you have reached out to us personally to stress the sincerity of their captaincy desire. Please know that this dedication and good will towards NE is definitely seen, and we hope to find ways in the future to channel it together.

We are now planning and preparing the draft, and will make sure to update with details shortly.

    Role: Player

    Games: LL/RCT2

Availability: I'm going to be straightforward and say that my availability isn't super concrete. My job is extremely demanding at the moment with a really mercurial schedule, so I can't say with confidence that I'll have enough time to fully lead a park; any captain drafting me should understand that I'm not going to be able to repeat H2H8 and fully lead/solo anything. However, I'm more than happy to pitch in with smaller contributions on multiple parks and can help develop park ideas and work feedback. I know I'm coming in as a bit of a wild card but I hope I can still be an asset to any captain that's willing to work with me around my scheduling.

i feel like i should clarify that im not necessarily limiting myself to only ll, im happy to take a supporting role on rct2 parks. i just would be more comfortable and more capable of taking a larger/leading role on an ll park

Hey all, just wanted to chime in and say that if you have ability to run multiplayer servers and/or object making it’d be very useful to include on your sign up.

Just got a brand spankin' new MacBook, and a less demanding job now. I'm throwing my hat in the ring:

    Role: player

    Games: rct2, OpenRCT2, LL

Availability: no big trips for this year currently planned, always available Tuesday mornings, most of day Wednesdays, and every other weekend.

Goals: getting better acquainted with OpenRCT2 and get better with hacking/shoe-stringing etc.. (I've been playing on XP for the last 15 years!) and creating some awesome parks.

Strengths: scenery, aesthetic hacks, making buildings and such, also able to create custom scenery

    Weaknesses: operating hacks, coaster design.

  • G Force%s's Photo

    Role: Player

Games: RCT2/LL (currently don't have LL working but can probably make it happen if needed)

    Multiplayer: Yes, but cannot host

Availability: Minimal, currently I can only build via trackpad so that massively deters me from building, I also seem to find myself pretty busy at most times but can cut out some time when needed.  So don't expect much work from me, maybe like 20% of a park with some layouts here and there.  Trying to get the mouse/trackpad issue fixed, but who knows when/if that will happen.  Overall, I'd like to contribute in some way or another to a team so here I am.

Sick sign-ups today. And also cool to see Rusty sign up.

Since I'll be a player now:

    Pros:
+ Elite NE Parkmaker with a very high level of creativity.
+ Tons of H2H experience. I signed up to captain, so I hope that's considered when drafting me. I expect to DM often with my captain and have a good dialog. I could be a good fit for a new captain.
+ Motivated to top my weak performance in H2H8. I think I know where I messed up and can correct it.

    Con
    - I won't have a lot of free time or be able to give H2H priority over my teaching certification tests or the publication of my book. Those are my main goals over the summer. However, I have the whole summer off. Pretty sure I'll find quite a few hours a week for RCT tho.

Just thought I’d add my goals and benefits:

I’d like to learn more about the current meta (always being blown away by hacks)
I want to build some great parks with great players, bring stuff to life that I can’t alone
With the videos I’ve been doing, I’ve been looking with a more constructive eye, so hopefully I can give some meaningful feedback and upskill the up and comers on the team and more experienced players with different strengths alike
Build some slapping coasters and help on construction of slapping coasters. Same with landscaping.

Wow cool, I love these competitions.  :D
Without a doubt I will follow, I bet again I will be perplexed by what you are going to create.
As I say: "You are on another level" hehe.  :)

Availability: Work and my day to day life has been extremely busy lately so I can't promise I'll lead a park or be a substantial building asset to the team. I see myself more of a support role for the season. However if you get an inspiring concept in front of me, it's hard to back down.
