    After 5 votes by the judges, the winner, by a score of 3 to 2, is... ride_exchanger

    ride_exchanger advances to round two where he will face the winner of the J K vs. Trainman 2000 match-up.

    The upsets start again as ride_exchanger managed to pull off a win vs. Peeee in a very close match. Peeee might not have been around for long but he has quickly proved himself to be very skilled parkmaker as he quickly developed his style and managed to get an RU with his first NE release. Ride_exchanger is known for his rather calm building style with a very open atmosphere, realistic buildings and of course peeps. His entry, ThunderLoop is the perfect example of how all these aspects come together to form a very quaint atmosphere. The only ride is a launched coaster that mostly keeps to the outer edges of the map. The layout is one of the longer ones so far and despite being rather awkward, seems to suit the surroundings perfectly. The only inversion is a loop (of course) and there is some very nice interaction with all the buildings on the map. The architecture is simple but well detailed and all the buildings serve a purpose, wheather it be a station or a food stall for the peeps. There may not be a whole lot on the map but everything comes together very nicely. Peeee's entry, Industrial Revolution, is quite similiar with some nice architecture with good details that fit with the theme. In the ride department there is a nice hacked coaster that fit's well on the map but was too short to really be a very impressive ride. A highly themed flat is also squeezed in. While some of the theming may be better the thing that really cost this entry was its lack of concentration on the layout and overall packaging of what's on the map which really came up short when compared to ride_exchanger's. The ideas were there though which meant the entires were quite close and the final results ended up requiring all 5 judges to vote. The tie breaking vote went for ThunderLoop and ride_exchanger moves on with the results at 3 votes to 2. Peeee still made a nice entry and showed he can carry a theme well so hopefully his next work will be more successful.

    You both should be really proud of your entries their both really nice and you were both matched evenly in my opinion. Ride_exchanger i'm glad to be against you (as i would of peeeee as well) I'm sure it will be a great match.

    I honestly can't see why people questioned r_e's layout here. For me it was one of the best in the round.

    (Have not followed however that many people questioned it , because RL was a bit busy last days for me, but yes, I think it was a really great layout for such a mini park!)

    Thanks! :D I really appreciate it. I really liked Peee's coaster layout as well, very smooth and realistic. I just managed to fit more total track into the park. But his archy was just as good as mine, too. I think this might have been the closest matchup of the first round. I just hope I can honor Peee, and my next opponent JK, with a rd 2 park of equal or better quality.

    Yeah your coaster was excellent. Your style of coastermaking fits perfectyly in a mini-entry, while I tend to make very spread-out layouts, which was a big problem for me actually.

    However I loved your entry, the interaction was so awesome as is the element placing. Moreover I think the peeps at a lot to your park. Originally I planned to make mine peepfriendly too, but didn't manage to and when Evil WME released his bench I was too lazy to restart again.
    Overall I think your entry only lacks is at least a tad of landscpaing and the foliage, as for the rest it was excellent.

    So go and knock JK out.
