Ask the Experts / Missing objects

Hey. I've recently started playing again, trying to make the most out of Park Nehalennia. Release will probably be spring next year.

Something that has always bothered me, was the lack of objects. There's a lot of objects which I could definitely use but aren't to my disposal in the park. Now I just downloaded ParkDat, to maybe replace a few objects, and I noticed something peculiar. According to ParkDat, there's an awful lot more objects available then I can actually use. For some reason, the game apparently won't allow me to use random objects, like colorable trees, some fences or some supports. I have the feeling I did select them when making this scenario years ago. The ratio would be like one-third of all objects. Luckily I don't have the same problem with rides.

Two questions: what's up with this? And more importantly: is it fixable? (if it is, I'll cry of happiness)

    Thanks!

Your ?-tab is probably too full. You need to get rid of some objects in the ?-tab, by either deleting them from the bench or getting them into another tab. If you have colourable trees, parkdat the colourable trees tab into your savegame, for example. Play around with the tabs until your ?-tab shows all objects again.

Thanks, that would probably be it. Small question, how do I put objects in another tab?

You can make a tab yourself, but that's a lot of work. Import some tabs that you think would chip away a lot of the objects currently in your ?-tab.

And how would I import an entire tab?

    Parkdat, as was already mentioned.

I'm sorry, but I still can't seem to figure out how to import a tab instead of separate objects which will end up in the ?-tab. I'm using ParkDat 1.6.

There's a DAT type called "groups". It's close to the bottom when organized by number. It might be just "g". Swap one of those out for a tab that has more objects that you've used.

Ah, thanks! I didn't know groups were .dat's too. It worked!

Ok, I see what you mean here Liampie, but why is it that some objects from the ?-tab are shown in the ?-tab and in another tab as well ? One object showing up in two different tabs, this is something that preventing me from using other objects in my ?-tab, because only 128 objects can be used in the ?-tab...
