So... about tonight.
I just spent 2-3 hours trying to solve the issue of raising/lowering in 8cars on Vista Home Premium. I disabled UAC, unchecked the "visual themes" box in properties, disabled Windows Defender. My theme already was Classic. When I restarted RCT2 after the UAC reboot, I found my saved games and CSOs to be missing. To add to that, 8cars ,versions 1.21, 1.31, 1.302, and 1.32 all didn't work. They'd close with a window saying that "8cars has stopped working. Windows is searching for a solution." It still doesn't work.
Can anyone help me out on this? Does anyone know where the files may have gone? Please, if I can't solve this, I might stop playing after H2H, so I'd love help...Edited by robbie92, 29 March 2009 - 01:11 AM.

in the explorder there seems to be a button in the "cheap" versions of vista. this button says "compatability files" .
if you press that one you can see your rct2 files again.
it sounds like a dll problem.
download this version of the 8cars trainer.
extract it (winrar) and make sure you keep it in a seperated folder.
than try to use that one.
also make sure there isn't a 8carsfunc.dll in your system32 folder. -

Wow... You were right. How can I get the saved games from compatability files to regular ones so I can upload them again?
EDIT: Nevermind. Figured it out. All is well...
