Round 2 - Match-Up #1: Zodiac vs. Xin
#8 Zodiac with his entry:
Excreations
#16 Xin with his entry:
Chokolate
After 5 votes by the judges, the winner, by a score of 4 to 1, is... Zodiac
Zodiac advances to round three where he will face 5Dave or Levis.
OLE's writeup
After two more judges were added to the panel making the total number of votes needed to win four rather than three, Round 2 began with the matchup between Xin and zodiac. Whoever won this match would move on to the Sweet 16 and face a very tough opponent. Being fresh off his huge upset win over RRP, Xin brought his best game to the match with Chokolate. His architecture is greatly improved and he even tries his hand at things like custom ques and stage areas with good results. A custom wooden wild mouse coaster runs around the edge of the map and a teacups ride sits in the center of the little plaza. It's solid work but there's nothing all that new or interesting there and it still has a bland feel that seems to haunt Xin's work. Zodiac is also improving quickly and his latest work Excreations is his best so far. A hacked coaster resembling Lloyd's Round 1 entry sits on the hilly landscape. The buildings are nicely detailed although a bit overdone. One problem is that the colors and textures are varied from building to building too much and there isn't any visible theme. Both entries were decent but zodiac got 4 votes to Xin's 1 and moves on to the Sweet 16 where he is sure to be the underdog. If he steps up his game he could pull off a big upset though.

Personally, I don't like the coaster. The architecture was great, IMO. So was the varying of the land height, rather than my relatively flat entry. Again, congrats to Zodiac.
For those who do download my entry, make sure you check out the theatre in particular. That's one of my favorite little touches of the whole entry.

Still, I'm really happy now. That, and I've just started my round 3 entry.
Oh, hey, do I get my custom member title now?
still I agree with the judges
Well done, you deserved it.
I think Xin's lacked any real substance, but it's clear how much he's improved since he arrived. So well done there.
Xin, you have improved a ton.
Crap I still gotta start my entry.

Other than that, thanks to all for the comments. Without them, I probably would've quit after the PT Prelims.
Not the best parks of the season but you can tell your'll both move on to better things in time.

For the rest: I enjoy how your parkmaking is developing, and I admire how in spite of all kind of negative comments since you joined here, on your work, your personality and your posts, you just keep going on and don't let yourself be backed away: that's a great spirit!. I mean that and I value that, and I am sure - as well as wish - that you will come there where you want to be.
On the parks for this round:
Zodiac: nice ride, nice little park!.
Wishing you great inspiration for, and luck in the next round. will be difficult to win that one, but "no try, no success", so go for it and who knows....you do have a lot of potential and talent I think, and where would we be in this life if there were no longer surprises......
Xin: also a nice try, but Zodiac's was just much better overall imo.
But yes, you are improving fastly....so go on and have fun!

Xin- was also nice and you are improving but there was really nothing very stunning here and there's nothing that would really sway me to vote for it
