Description
In an otherwise harsh landscape, an ancient unfailing spring allows plant life and a fortified settlement to thrive.
The residents have built a steel thrill machine to attract even more trade and tourism from other distant towns and settlements. -

Lurker earns his first ever Design win here and breaks a personal best score with a charming walled garden that evolves his familiar patterns and heralds the arriving Spring.
Zoomed out it's not immediately recognizable as a Lurker park, but up close it does have your authentic Chris Sawyer meets where's waldo style. I feel like you're getting to a perfect inbetween of NE and your style. For me this hit the sweet spot. Perhaps the big coaster helped with that. Really looked like it belonged on the map and stood out in a positive way
Hell yea lurker, Design! Well deserved.
This really feels like more and more progression from you as a builder Lurker - getting more and more intricate without losing your style. There aren't many people with their own signature style at NE, but you're definitely one of them. All of your stuff feels fun, almost train-of-thought building without too much regard for realism or rules. Sometimes this can come across as a bit slapdash, but here it feels cohesive enough as a whole to work. Colors are great throughout, and i really like the areas around the edges of this map - lots to look at, lots of variation. Good stuff!
Wellspring Gardener shows that Lurker can wrestle with the big dogs without compromising their own style. And in fact, I think that it is that style that brings the strength to this entry. A blend of NCSO with a modest selection of custom objects, this entry displays a classic sensibility where composition is the name of the game.
I believe the main viewing angle to be “inside L”, where the cobra roll appears beneath the predrop curve. Instead of path over the cobra roll, there is a bridge through the diveloop. The ride is effectively trenched through from the first drop, with several elements diving into wellsprings and over rocky outcroppings. A small path winds through the course to offer layer separation.
The theme is achieved effortlessly - a medieval paradise in a wasteland. This optimistic theme works perfectly with Lurker’s storybook building style, where his small scale and narrow paths harken a more simple world. The yellow of the track helps it pop while the rest of the entry uses more modest, muted colours. I feel as though this entry should have been less effective than it ended up being, and I think this is due to Lurker’s compositional eye. Each moment is very well framed, without much obstruction from nearby features. The result is incredibly readable and just delightful to look through.
I think the thing that would have pushed this entry into the higher tiers would be some braver choices. At the end of the day, this is an exemplar of the Lurker signature, but still lands comfortably within that realm. I think some bigger swings, perhaps incorporating some braver macro elements, could push your game to the next level without changing what makes you you. Perhaps an uncomplicated entry, but as I’ve stated in other reviews, you can’t argue with solid fundamentals. And nor should you.
Score: 80% presented in a tiny tiny box
There is something I really enjoy about the scale of this. It gives me the same sense I get looking at a miniature model of something. There’s an undeniable LL-esque feel about the architecture, and I quite enjoy how all the different textures and variations come together to bring forth this sense that this is a lived-in oasis. The contrast of the verdant land within the walls compared to the outside of the walls was a nice touch. 75%
That logo's great lol... really though, reminds me of the 90s web design you'd see on sites like geocities. And it's fitting for this because, in Lurker fashion, we're seeing another entry of this contest continuing the trend of old-school parkmaking.
There's actually some really interesting composition here, like how at one angle, the Ferris wheel perfectly aligns with the coaster supports and a building by the twist fits almost perfectly under the chainlift. There's also some nice placement of paths and small buildings between the coaster. I also agree with MTC's assessment that this nails the look of a walled medieval city: despite the absence of diagonal or curved objects, it has a sprawling, circular look.
I am a fan of the overall density of this, there's a lot to take in and so many little scenes, like the ostriches or the farmer tilling a field. This park is clearly in your classic style, but it's a step above in detailing.
In summary this is a beautiful entry with an excellent color scheme that blends LL, NCSO, and modern building trends. It's also very relaxing to view.
Very charming entry. I think where this entry shines is the landscaping and the picturesque setting in the center of the map. The spring and the tiny waterfalls , the lush foliage, and the single wide path cutting through the the center are all very cozy and I can easily see myself getting lost walking around this park.
The coaster supports are done quite well, and its an interesting but smart choice to do the dark green supports - really blends well into the dense trees below.
One area that I would've liked to have seen improved upon is the density here. It is incredibly dense of a park! I think having the castle walls surrounding the entirety of the coaster leads to a bit cramped of a space. There's very little negative space. But having said that, it's quite interesting what you put in this park. It's a very fleshed out little village.
Well done sir!
Congratulations on the design win lurker! I love the way you mixed in cso with the other objects here, extremely tastefully done. The whole park feels alive and vibrant. Great job!
This map is my favorite from you that I have seen in quite some time. The music set a nice atmosphere, and overall the map felt so dense and alive, with the main town incorporating your architectural style to the best possible extent. Your style is very particular and, frankly, has its limits from an aesthetic and content density point of view, but nevertheless I think this map is one of the best examples of your work thus far. It feels like you paid extra close attention to detail with many of the supporting elements of the park, which perhaps can be owed to the fact that you were given a layout to work with to begin with? The little touches of custom object usage, in my opinion, really elevates your style, and is something you should not be afraid to incorporate more going forward. The custom waterfalls, in particular, just look so much nicer than a flat, ice LL waterfall. I also appreciate how clear it is that within the walls of this garden, things are flourishing and happy, while that is not the case on the outside, which really helps sell the theme. Great work!
I'm rather charmed by your entry Lurker, hoping you don't take that in a patronising way. You've built something that evokes a rustic, earthy feeling with the diminutive buildings and blend of textures. The bric-a-brac style is immediately familiar and a nice reminder of your previous works, now evolved with the addition of the odd custom object - a rock piece here, a hay bale or waterfall there, but all of them feeling right at home. The coaster is also quite nicely situated with some great viewing spots and hugging the landscape toward the end. I'm glad that you've been able to continue growing your style in the game and resulting in a Design win, congratulations!

Super warm and inviting moment with the brook and cascading waterfalls beside the coaster:
I sadly couldn't view this entry in its entirety as I don't have the textures. I appreciated the screen shots so I could get a glimpse of what it is supposed to look like. I really liked the atmosphere of this project. I also really liked your choice of music. The music made this park feel super immersive to me.
Foliage and Landscaping: The landscaping in this park was absolutely wonderful. I think its my favorite landscaping that I've seen so far in the entries. Everything just looks so clean and the water interactions are wonderful. You also used the different land textures really well. This scene down here is amazing
The foliage in this project is pretty good in the areas with thicker foliage but not so great in the areas with less. At some points the bushes seem placed in random places and spammed around. I liked your choice of trees and bushes though.
Architecture: Really nice overall! The screen shots looked pretty lovely. I also really loved all of the little scenes that you scattered throughout the park. This one below was great!
I do wish that this park had a bigger structure somewhere to serve as a centerpiece or something.
Overall: I'm really glad I checked this park out! It was really fun to view. I'd rate it a 65%
I too couldn't view this entry as you intended as I don't have the textures. Screen shots were great and the overview looks so different to the park I viewed so I understand what you were putting out there.
+ Nice quaint atmosphere like every Lurker park we see
+ Good foliage usage across the map
++ Trackitecture support work is really well done, I know how hard you grafted on this and I can say it more than paid off. Very technical, greatly appreciated this aspect of the design
+ Great work with the coaster
-I did have a few object usage gripes here and land as buildings but I understand the texture issue is holding this back for me so I’m just gonna cut that out of this review

Lovely. It looked pretty cool without the right textures too, btw.
This entry is really great. I think it does such a good job of feeling lived in. Despite using a bit of CSO, it feels very LL and in a way that too me is a plus. It feels like an upgrade of the original game. The palette and colors are wonderful and the village area surrounding the coaster is just so nice. You did a great job of balancing it out with the more nature-y area and waterfalls in the middle. It's one of my favorites so far from the first 7 parks. I'd give it a 75.
I've got mixed thoughts on this. I like the coaster and think it's well supported and has nice surrounding foliage. I am not as big on much of the architecture, however, and think its in some places cluttered and in others lacks some artistic focus. Still, it has some very good atmosphere that shines through regardless so I give at a 60 out of 100.
