Description
Cherry Gorge Amusement Land opened in 1999 as part of a government initiative to boost tourism to national parks. A small portion of the Cherry Gorge National Park was allocated for the park. It opened with the Intamin mega coaster Ronin. Thanks to Ronin, the government initiative was a resounding success. Because of Cherry Gorge's limited land and reliance on government funding, the park's ride lineup has not changed much over the years. It was another 24 years before the political landscape allowed a second coaster to be built - Squall Surfer, a B&M surf coaster. Squall Surfer was met with mixed reception. While many felt its floaty ride experience contrasted nicely with Ronin's intensity, many others found the ride too short and lacking in comparison to its counterpart.
This was my entry to the DKMP Giga Coaster Ride Creation Contest. This version of the park incorporates feedback from contest reviews and mixes in some lite CSO - signs, fences, diagonal paths, etc. - but keeps its DKSO core. -

Love this!! This little surfer coaster really has my attention, that layout is short but done wellllllll. Really like that. The station building for that is great. The canoe ride and water is so gorgeous!! That pink tree is killer!! The landscaping is top notch. That with the stone pier looks incredible, ill be coming back to this for a while!! The orange coaster is great, super nice layout, great supports and cool interaction. Loveeeeee this!
This was lovely hypno. Colourful and full of wonderful little touches. The Giga coaster is such a nice coaster type and you've done it justice here. And yeah, the landscaping was nicely done as well.
I do think there were moments where you could've gone deeper with the theming, like ride names, and around some of the flat rides. But overall, a very pleasant submission!
This was really nice, excellent layout and supports surrounded by great terrain and foliage. Archy didn't always hit but it served its purpose and was very clean, the bit in the middle of the entrance plaza was probably my least favorite part. Everything else was really good honestly.
I thought this was excellent, very clean and classic, shows a good feel for color/texture balance and detail
Lots of nice qualities on display here - good layout and supports, a nice supporting coaster, unique architecture and great landscaping. Certainly seems to have carried forward into more recent entries, nice work!
This blindsided me as a fellow competitor in the giga contest. Took me a while to figure out if you were a NE regular on a burner! Highlight for me is the landscaping with some really great foliage and rockwork. Ronin is a killer layout and Squall Surfer is such a unique supporting coaster. Canoe Tour is a really cool idea with some beautiful surroundings. My big gripe is the entrance plaza looks a little skinny path-wise considering that's where the most guests are expected to be. The little bridges over the water are a cool idea but they do bottleneck the path a bit.
This is really promising stuff, even the volcano rocks are well integrated into the landscape and don't stick out like a sore thumb; coming from me that's a big compliment lol!
The macro has a really lovely balance to it. The size and layout of the buildings seems perfect. There's such a good eye here for what looks good in-game, it's tough to pick out specifics because everything just seems so well composed.
This was lovely. Good sytlistic sophistication which is great and welcome to see with these objects. Also good macro skill throughout. How many parks/maps have you built before this? I think you make the talent-o-meter spike. Hoping to see more from you.
Super solid fundamentals on display here. From the macro to the layout and foliage everything is very nicely done. Love the rockwork also. Great work Hypno
Great coaster, excellently supported and really top notch landscaping. Nice parkmaking on display here, easily design accolade worthy imo.
Really cool placemaking. Lovely layouts as well. Weird limbo though of is it a park or is it a design? Either way, solid work!
i was fairly close to a 75 on this so glad to see it land right in the middle and congrats on the design! well deserved.
the main coaster is really solid and integrated very well into the landscape. that back side of the park is really tranquil, love it.
the front side felt slightly messy overall theme-wise, lots of cool theming tricks and things but lacked a little cohesiveness to take it to the next level. but overall more than enough here and a good skill level. very interested to see what you do next, good stuff!
Happy to have seen this score so well. As of this comment, you have the highest solo dkso/recolorable design on the site, which is really cool. Upon seeing this in the giga contest, many of us thought you were an NE member with a burner account: the great composition, pathing, colors, and nestled integration. Congrats Hypno!
Great first release here, expecting big things from you.
