Description
Cherry Gorge Amusement Land opened in 1999 as part of a government initiative to boost tourism to national parks. A small portion of the Cherry Gorge National Park was allocated for the park. It opened with the Intamin mega coaster Ronin. Thanks to Ronin, the government initiative was a resounding success. Because of Cherry Gorge's limited land and reliance on government funding, the park's ride lineup has not changed much over the years. It was another 24 years before the political landscape allowed a second coaster to be built - Squall Surfer, a B&M surf coaster. Squall Surfer was met with mixed reception. While many felt its floaty ride experience contrasted nicely with Ronin's intensity, many others found the ride too short and lacking in comparison to its counterpart.
This was my entry to the DKMP Giga Coaster Ride Creation Contest. This version of the park incorporates feedback from contest reviews and mixes in some lite CSO - signs, fences, diagonal paths, etc. - but keeps its DKSO core. -

Love this!! This little surfer coaster really has my attention, that layout is short but done wellllllll. Really like that. The station building for that is great. The canoe ride and water is so gorgeous!! That pink tree is killer!! The landscaping is top notch. That with the stone pier looks incredible, ill be coming back to this for a while!! The orange coaster is great, super nice layout, great supports and cool interaction. Loveeeeee this!
This was lovely hypno. Colourful and full of wonderful little touches. The Giga coaster is such a nice coaster type and you've done it justice here. And yeah, the landscaping was nicely done as well.
I do think there were moments where you could've gone deeper with the theming, like ride names, and around some of the flat rides. But overall, a very pleasant submission!
