Description
"Hey there! Thanks for dropping by my lab! I’m Professor Fields - an avid student of a little bit of everything! I dabble in natural sciences, technology, and art - and I am especially keen on how they might intersect and combine to something greater than their sum.
I've got a grand mission for you - but first, let me give you some context. Our region, Brionia, is famous for harboring both Pokemon as well as an abundance of theme parks. Every city, big or small, aims to offer attractions of various kinds. It's sort of our regional sport, and the competition is fierce!
Now, these parks usually focus on featuring either exciting rides or immersive themes - but rarely do you see a park successfully combining these two aspects together. Therefore, my vision is to build the ultimate park that perfectly blends these two elements! I've already found the ideal location, and being a bit of an artist myself, I'm confident that it will be pretty. However, I'm definitely not an engineer. That's where you come in!
In this region we have eight Pokemon Gyms. Defeating their leaders will reward you with Ride Elements, which will be crucial for constructing our park's attractions. Accordingly, your task is to conquer these gyms and gather these elements. To get started on your journey, I will provide you with the Electric type Pokémon Gloworm, who is unique to our region. Of course, as you continue on your quest, you can expand your team through catching wild Pokemon and training them to evolve.
Two more things before you go. First off, I would also like you to visit the various parks in the region, so that we get first-hand knowledge of what our competition looks like. There are 18 parks in all. Just collecting an entrance ticket from each of them will suffice as data, but of course I will give you funds to ride all the rides as much as you want! There are also several defunct parks found in the more remote areas. These are parks that used to thrive in the past, but for various reasons dropped in popularity and eventually ended up abandoned and in a state of disrepair. I would ask that you investigate these as well - history is the best teacher, as they say! Six such sites exist across Brionia.
Finally, you have likely heard the legend of the Pokémon Adrenalisk. It is said to embody all things thrilling. There are actually no reliable accounts of it existing - yet, I know in my gut that it dwells somewhere in Brionia, and that we will need its powers to really make our ultimate park come together. Therefore, I request that you seek it out, and then use whatever means to catch it.
Please consult the game guide if you need more help. When you have reached all the objectives, I will show you the fruits of our labor!”

Pokémon Thrill & Enchantment brings together the excitement and adventure of Pokémon games and the timeless charm of Roller Coaster Tycoon into one experience. Explore the massive Brionia region, home to 18 diverse cities and many more sights. Travel by foot, train, boat, plane, and more. Fill out the Pokédex by catching wild Pokémon and train them by battling Trainers, Gym Leaders, and other wild Pokémon, through which your Pokémon earns XP, levels up, and some of them even evolve. Visit the theme parks in each city, and ride coasters and flat rides. On certain rides you can even take control and dictate speed and direction! Use the in-game menus to access important information and functions, such as checking your game progress, selecting your active pokemon, teleporting to cities you have previously visited, and reading the game guide. Last but not least - the Brionia region contains 8 brand new Pokémon never seen before! Four of these new Pokémon are found in Pokémon Thrill, and the other four in Pokémon Enchantment.

Note #1: A special branched version of Oli's Advanced Track plugin will be required for running the Pokemon-related game logics. Another plugin made by me, the Adventure plugin, is required for the player control and map interaction. Both of those plugins are included together with the park bundle.
---------------------------------------------------------
Note #2: The bundle contains a completely played-through and fully unlocked version of the game, for those who would like to skip ahead to more free exploration of the map. All obstacles on the map have been removed, all items obtained, and the Pokedex is completed. There is even a “cheat” to unlock the camera if you want complete freedom - please refer to the Keyboard shortcuts menu in OpenRCT2 and navigate to the last tab to see the key bindings for the Adventure Plugin, where you will find the key combo for this “cheat”.
---------------------------------------------------------
Note #3: Expected time needed to play through the game is about 5-10 hours. If your machine allows for it, I recommend running the simulation at double speed, to increase the tempo of the "game logic and mechanisms", which all take a bit of time.
---------------------------------------------------------
Note #4: Please consult the "Guidebook", "Recommended & Required Settings", and "Quick Start" documents, as well as the in-game Guide for more information on how to get the best experience when playing Pokémon Thrill. -

commenting to bump the park on "new content" button - will be back to review!
Check below video for more guidance on how to play:

You've really push things into a whole different universe here, it's truly and amazing achievement. This feels so professional, so complete, so creative. It's really amazing, not sure what else I can say about it honestly without going for a full playthrough. You should be very proud of this, it's really far beyond anything anyone else could ever imagine achieving with this game.
I understand that the reception for this thing is rather slow, because it is A LOT to take in and it takes a bit of messing around to make it work. But when it does, the functionality of this creation is INSANE. Most technically amazing thing I've ever seen in RCT.
I barely scratched the surface with this so I can't say much about the actual gaming experience yet, but even just being able to control a peep and walking around, jumping ledges, climbing towers to take in the view... It's crazy that all of this just works. Wow!
I'm totally with Liam. Today, I finally had the chance to sit down and really learn the ropes of how this creation works, and I have to say, it's a technical marvel. As I continue to play through, I will try to leave more comments on this thread, but for now, this is quite the technical marvel and a huge accomplishment. I think the 'slow reception' is okay in this case - this park will be something that people return to for a VERY long time, and it's only a matter of time before the RCT community outside of NE learns about it, and its popularity explodes. Seriously, I honestly can't even believe the level of technical wizardry achieved here. I really think Chris Sawyer should be informed of this creation somehow - it's that significant to the game's history. Amazing accomplishment all around, Split!
Thanks for all the kind words so far! Hope it will be engaging enough that people will eventually discover the entire region
So based on some user feedback, I have realized that there was an issue with the Adventure plugin when using Windows. When trying to use the "special click" command and "missing" to click an interactive object like for example a Pokemon, the game would crash. This has been fixed in the version of the plugin available below:
https://drive.google...?usp=drive_link
This version also displays a message if the user mis-clicks, so that it is more clear whether you managed to click an interactive object or not. Apologies for the inconvenience of needing to update the plugin!
This is... just wild. Talk about a game changer. Literally! Haha. I struggled a bit to get things working (although the documentation is very good so I got there after reading carefully). And like others I've not yet had a chance to get stuck in in depth (will come back when I do!) - but WOW, the mechanics in here are just something else. What a concept. The ability to walk around the map as a peep and interact with the environment is so much fun. The way you've adapted the standard game windows etc to show the various menus and information is so clever. And the fact there's actually a narrative and objectives etc... I can't begin to imagine how you'd even approach this, let alone how much work must have gone into executing it. Bravo!
This is one of those parks that I cant image how you even came up with the idea and especially the mechanics of the the park. That said, I still dont fully understand everything as I was never into Pokemon however my grandson is a big fan and I plan to show him this when I see him again next year and the two of us will get into this and experience it like it should.
Thank you so much for taking RCT to new levels and showing what it can do when you think outside the box. Well done!
When this was released I played through this for a while. The playable pokémon game was obviously one of the most incredible things I've ever seen. I was glad you shared how to normally navigate the park. Even without the functional game elements, it's a fantastic park to explore.

You could have mashed all the parks and done a splendid semi-realistic pokémon park. But the way you filled the world sold the concept even better. Honestly, you could take out the pokémon and you'd still have a completely believable map of a society where coasters are their churches or something. That's good world-building.
The landscaping and foliage were one of my favorite aspects. Everything felt consistent, but also completely all over the place in a very good way haha! Another thing I enjoyed was how every town and city had its own architectural style and distinct vibe. Those things together really sold the Pokémon x Rollercoaster Tycoon style that was necessary to pull this off. So props on this!
As a huge pokémon fan I just really enjoyed this. It really came off as an actual Pokémon world. The selection of pokémon and accompanying rides were well chosen. Multiple wild Regirock felt a bit unrealistic to me but I haven't caught up with the new games
This is big for me. I joined NE *checks member list*... 21 years ago now. I have been active on and off and had a longer break in the mid 2010s, but am so happy I found a way back about 6-7 years ago now, and found the community to be as active and innovative as ever. To now finally actually join the Parkmaker category is something I feel happy and proud of, and I want to thank the panelists not only for agreeing to score this oddity (which frankly ended up being mostly a kind of indulgence for myself rather than something really geared for the community) but also for being patient and thinking through your score - and I could not have asked for a better outcome.
Thanks also for all the kind feedback in the comments above. I am very glad to hear that especially for the crowd that is at the intersection of NE and having played Pokemon, you seem to have picked up on what I was going for in terms of vibes and perhaps also in the storytelling elements.
I might consider making my own playthrough video at some point which would showcase the game from start to finish, smartly edited of course so that the extent of all the content and functionality on the map can be digested in a bite-sized format, I am thinking a total runtime of no more than perhaps 10 minutes or so. In parallel Marcel will continue to stream his playthrough, and we have discussed doing a kind of summary and "under-the-hood" video once he is done with that, which I would be very excited about as well. So for those who understandably felt they were not really able to access this park, I hope that kind of content can provide a more fitting way to enjoy this creation.
I will say this - I will definitely not competitively submit an elaborate "game-in-game" creation like this again, but I do feel quite certain I will continue to use my Adventure plugin to create games in RCT, which I still would want to share non-competitvely here, because I think there's still a lot of fun potential in this kind of stuff. I do have one idea cooking already, for an original game where I could allow myself more freedom than in this park, where I of course felt compelled to mimic the Pokemon gameplay aspects as closely as I could. It could therefore be easier to play, and also definitely be less constricted to specific versions of the game or settings etc.
In some competitive creations I might also still consider implementing a very light "layer" of interaction through the Adventure plugin, such as just enabling the viewer to walk around, and perhaps riding a few rides if they want etc - but this would in these cases not at all be the main point of the park, instead it would be more like a simple, fun addition, so I think would not pose the same conundrum as Pokemon Thrill did when it comes to scoring against NE standards.
And to close it out - I do promise to also build some "normal" RCT in the near future!
Congrats on the accolade, Split! Much deserved. I'd certainly be interested in a playthrough video if you do make one. And I love the idea of adding the interactive element to other parks in the future - would certainly add a new dimension to the game! You're such an innovator what with this and your TTA entry - can't wait to see what you come up with next
