Description
The thrill of learning the ropes of OpenRCT was a journey I'll never forget.
Back in 2019, I was getting into coasters again: watching tons of POVs on YouTube, becoming a regular viewer of channels like ThemeParkCrazy, and most importantly, discovering a dude named Marcel Vos. His Extreme Heights tutorial prompted me to get back into this game, being this is one of the hardest scenarios to beat. So, I picked up an old save I started as a kid, and finished it with a bigger focus on coasters. At the time, it was the most advanced looking park I ever made. But little did I know, there was so much more potential.
Later in 2020, I came across another important dude named Deurklink, and after watching quite a few of his contest videos, I actually became quite envious of the skill builders had with beautifying their creations. I was prideful of my epic coasters compared to the more tame ones from the contests. But a part of me wanted to take a stab at transforming my completed Extreme Heights.
In November of 2021, I finally took the plunge and got to work, revamping the entrance, followed by moving in a counter clockwise fashion. In about 5 months time, the beautification was basically done.
If you're familiar with the early RCC's on DKMP, you'll probably recognize similar themes, if not identical structures, from certain builders. I tried to mention everyone with little banners, but some people in particular like Hex, Skiffa, Jens, and Deurklink himself were pivotal to my Extreme Heights.
This is the first park I ever fully completed in Open RCT, so I thought it would be wonderful for the viewer to see a before and after shot of everything, and what's possible when you become suddenly invigorated to learn something new. -

This is such a fun and joyful map - feels like a much better version of the 'Tycoon Park' you unlock after completing all the scenarios in the base game, where there's just tons of stuff everywhere and it's completely unrealistic but lots and lots of fun. I loved that you kept the iconic top hat element over the entrance. Thanks for sharing these parks from you back catalogue!
