The bi-yearly event of both warm and cold,
The games that entertain, both the young and the old,
Have come to a place, never thought to be seen,
For some friendly competition, bringing five little rings.
Everyone's joining, won't you follow suit,
Watch your favorites compete, to see who wins all the loot.
Medals of three, in the end are given,
Playing RCT for gold, now isn't that living?
The best of the best, duking it out,
As our all-star judges are seen walking about.
Buy your tickets fast, get a front row seat,
For this now yearly event is a one of a kind type of treat.
...To be continued...
So a few weeks ago you might have recalled me posting a little teaser about an inter-site competition that's supposed to feature the best sites on the net doing a bunch of stuff. If not, click here.
Well, this is the official sign-up thread for it. Sign up here only if you plan on representing NE, as well as if you have time between about February 1 to March 11. We need people good in theming, coaster design, graphics making, scenery making, and writing as well, as that's the range of categories the competition will test. We only need to do at least three events though, so ideally, we could have have three people do three separate events (one per event), but since I want NE to kick total ass, I'd like the best of the best and lots of it.
I'll post updates and more specifics later, but if you're interested in proving why NE is the best there is and have time next month, sign up here. I believe there are 10 slots open, maybe 16. If there's an overflow, we'll draft from the pool of signees.
Thanks!
Oh yeah, I've also decided that signups will end on January 23. I'll start culling over the candidates next Monday. -

I'm curious: are we sending certain representatives to separate events who are particularly good at those specific aspects of RCT, or a few representatives for all aspects? If I have to do all of the different competitions I don't think I would be the best choice to represent the site. But I feel that I could do pretty well in the coaster design arena if that is the only one I have to do. Trust me on this one, I'm pretty proud of some of the stuff that I've come up with slapping some coaster track around, and I think it rivals most stuff around as far as quality. I realize that I'm boasting now - sorry about that. If you want to see some design samples, Cork, PM me anytime and I'll show you some screens, or send you some files preferably. -

I'm in.
EDIT:
Coaster design = pretty good on a good day
Theming = average
Architecture = I consider myself decent
Graphics = if MSPaint is good, AWESOME!!! -

We need to send representatives to at least three events. We have to send at least one rep per event, but we can send up to our maximum number. A person competing in one event does not have to compete in another necessarily, but can if he chooses. Only the people drafted onto the NE team will be allowed to represent NE and compete in the events, although they do not (and probably should not for sanity reasons) take part in everything.I'm curious: are we sending certain representatives to separate events who are particularly good at those specific aspects of RCT, or a few representatives for all aspects? Say there are ten events. Say that we are allowed ten people. A SAMPLE SHOWING might go like this (using totally generic names):
EVENT 1
Joe
Bob
EVENT 2
Joe
James
Carl
Evan
EVENT 3
Bob
Carl
EVENT 4
Joe
Bob
James
Carl
Evan
Don
Jack
Adam
EVENT 5
Tom
EVENT 6
Jack
Carl
Evan
Tom
Don
EVENT 7
no one competing
EVENT 8
Bob
James
Joe
EVENT 9
Adam
EVENT 10
Adam
James
Joe
Don
Even
Bob
Carl
Notice that only ten people total represented our team. However, not everyone did every event. Not every event had all ten. In fact, one event didn't have any reps from NE. And really, I don't think each person has to work on as many things as some of the people did in my little example, but it's just an idea of how it'd go. -

WE do a park on our own? How big or do we choose. I will sign up, if you want me.
I can do themeing, coasters IMO are okay, i can do some graphics (bijou magique logo). I can edit some objects if need be, although ive only ever done it once, but i suck when writing, so count me out on that bit.
