Another fantastic poll like the Hawiian Punch Poll.
I have always pondered on how the Food Lion logo was meant to be seen. As a child I saw it as a weird looking lion with an evil eye and a long nose. Many people see it as a lion with it's tongue hanging out, but that never made sense to me. Why would someone make a logo of a lion with his tongue hanging out? I don't know. What do you think? -

I get the evil eye thing but then it looks like he's got a beak, and lions don't have beaks.
Maybe his tongue is hanging out because he is hungry and needs to shop at the nearest Food Lion location in the Tri-County area. -

If you're referring to the Sphinx, that's the head of a woman on the body of a lion, and it is also part of greek mythology as well, as documented by the tale of Oedipus. [/information from atrociously boring french literature course]One of those Egyptain statues.
I see 1/3 of England's football logo, but made angular and given silly colours. -

Yeah, I couldn't think of what it that was called this morning, then again, it is the morning. That logo reminds me of a Sphinx. If you're referring to the Sphinx, that's the head of a woman on the body of a lion, and it is also part of greek mythology as well, as documented by the tale of Oedipus. I think that's enough for now. Apparently it's pretty common for a lion illustration to have it's tongue sticking out, perhaps demonstrating a roar. I think it's a celtic design. -

It's clearly smoking a pipe (upside down).
Where do you see this evil eye, anyway?
