Yeah, my host deleted his website, so now I have to find a new one. I'll get around to getting the screens back up sometime soon.

I'm trying to get it back. It bounced on me :(

Otherwise I'll transfer the information to MT.

    *Really late update*

I've been doing some final touch ups on the completed areas of the park over the past few days. I work on the park whenever I get in the mood, so progress has been sporadic at best. The last section of Arabian Coast is nearing completion (the Caravan Carousel court), and work should begin on Explorers' Landing and Mysterious Island after that. Although the park is 85% complete, I have NO idea when it will be done. I'm shooting for Christmas, but who knows.

Since not much has really happend that I want to show, I'm going to repost some of my lost screens. A few of them might be slightly different than the previous ones since I just took them.

Park entrance from Seven Seas Plaza and the Disneyland Resort Monorail Station. The structure is actually both the parks first themed port, Mediterranean Harbor, and the Hotel MiraCosta.

    Posted Image
The lobby entrance and guest drop-off for the Hotel MiraCosta. The walkway to the left leads to Seven Seas Plaza and the Disneyland Resort Monorail Station.

    Posted Image
Mediterranean Harbor proper. This section has no real attractions other than the gondolas, but is filled with uniquely themed shops and restaurants.

    Posted Image
The Porto Paradiso section of Mediterranean Harbor. This section recalls southern Italy and is the gateway from Mediterranean Harbor to both Mysterious Island and Scandinavian Inlet.

    Posted Image
The Ponte Vecchio Bridge links the Mediterranean Harbor/American Waterfront areas with the AW offshoot Cape Cod and Mysterious Island. Still some work to be done on this as well.

    Posted Image
American Waterfront harks back to New York during the roaring 20's. Here we see McDuck's Department Store at the head of the port. You can also see the tracks for the overhead trains of the DisneySea Electric Railway.

    Posted Image
The Sailing Ship Columbia is something I'm very proud of. This turned out remarkably well. Inside is a restaurant, Roosevelt's, and a Broadway like musical, Sail Away.

    Posted Image
Cape Cod is the quiet side of the American Waterfront. There are no attractions here, just a quaint little fishing village nestled against an active volcano... yeah real charming place huh?

    Posted Image
Just one of my favorite shots. This overview stretches from Mediterranean Harbor all the way to the far end of the American Waterfront and almost Port Discovery.

    Posted Image
Port Discovery is one of the areas I'm not really happy with. I'm definately going to go back and redo some things, but for now this is what I've got. Pictured is Aquatopia's station (left), StormRider (top), and a yet to be named gift shop on the bottom.

    Posted Image
Lost River Delta is also an area that is going to see some changes soon. I've added these 2 structures to help fill out the area, but the actual town itself is set to get a facelift soon (hence, no screens of that). I've really got to work with this area due to its location on the map. It's in a tight spot between Mount Prometheus, Port Discovery, and Arabian Coast.

    Posted Image
Shown here is the Fastpass distrubition for the Indiana Jones Adventure. This area is meant to look like an excavation is going on, so I need to "junk it up" more. Even though I despise Fastpass, it's still in the Disney parks so I feel that it must be in mine as well. To the lower left is a portion of the Yucatan Base Camp Grill.

    Posted Image
Pretty much the only shot you'll see of Arabian Coast until the park is released. This is another section I feel is not up to standard, so again some changes may come. The area shown houses themed shops and restaurants. Nothing special really, just the most complete shot of the Arabian Coast I have.

    Posted Image
Last but not least is the only original area in the park, Scandinavian Inlet. The shots not great, but I am very satisfied with this area. The only things left here is the completion of Gamlefjord and some touch ups on the Stave Church.

That's all you're gonna see for now. I'm trying to show less of my parks from now on considering I was pretty much showing everything before. Hope you enjoy!

Kumba, why isn't this guy Parkmaker?

I can answer that: a parkmaker is more than just architecture.

As much as I love all of the architecture and the atmosphere it invokes in places, I am having a difficult time loving the sum of the parts. To be honest with you, the foliage is awful. I know you've heard this before, but it just kills many of those screens, like the Indy and Arabian screens.

I love the Scandinavian area, pretty nice execution with those godforsaken rocks. I would vary the buildings slightly more in that area.

The Columbia ship is perfect though the walkway could use some more support.

The Indiana Jones screen is quite something. Those custom walls and blocks really fade into each other and it's pretty messy.

I wish you would build more rides outdoors. I know DisneySea has a bunch of rides indoors but even Disneyland has the outdoor rides: Jungle Cruise, Splash, Big Thunder, Gadget's Go Coaster, Matterhorn, etc. I wish you would take more liberties with that.

Well, anyway, I am glad you are still working at this. Your skills with architecture are quite astounding. It just baffles me how one dimensional your parkmaking skills appear to be! I wish you could make the foliage look as good as the buildings around it. I wish you built more exciting rides.

It looks as good as ever, i don't doubt that this will go down as a great park (even if you do think certain areas need touching up). I'm just glad to see some screens again, so we know the project's still moving. :)

You have done a great job on recreating my favorite park that i viewed two years ago in japan...many great memories of that trip.....if you can get there its worth a trip to disneysea.....disneyland was crazy busy but disneysea seems to be less busy...great attractions and wonderful scenery. Keep up the great work looking forward to the download ....in the winter Thanks again for doing this park

    SCOTT

    WHERE IS IT

I'm still in the SE, so I can't really start Gamlefjord (not Maelstrom ;) ). Once I get out of the SE, it will be one of the first rides I tackle considering it's mostly outdoors.

As much as I love all of the architecture and the atmosphere it invokes in places, I am having a difficult time loving the sum of the parts. To be honest with you, the foliage is awful. I know you've heard this before, but it just kills many of those screens, like the Indy and Arabian screens.

I like the foilage just fine.

Regarding Scandinavian Inlet, the town I based this section on is just like that, not much variation at all. I'm trying to keep true to the architecture in that real place even if it means throwing RCT2 "ideals" out the door.

Only 3 of the 5 rides you mentioned are actually outdoors btw. Splash is 90% indoors, and Matterhorn's start and finish are the only thing technically outside (though the mountain is "open air"). I get your point though, and now let me make mine. This isn't Disneyland. The entire point of DisneySea is immersion. I'm taking my DisneySea in a more Epcot-like direction really. If it was real, I'd want the guest to feel like they are really in these ports, kinda like Epcot's World Showcase. Attractions are necessary in theme parks, but I'm really pushing atmosphere for this park. Thus, when it came time to decide what rides would fit and which ones wouldn't, the list got really short really fast. I do wish that I had more rides in this park, but for me atmosphere comes first. Some people may be saying this is me taking the cheap way out with this park, but guess what, I'm not.

Wow, those screens ... I love them so much ... ehm .. but ...
    Where are the rides?

As stated many times before, I don't leave the scenario editor until the entire park is complete. That means no rides can be built until then.

It looks as good as ever, i don't doubt that this will go down as a great park (even if you do think certain areas need touching up). I'm just glad to see some screens again, so we know the project's still moving. :)

I lost interest in RCT2 for a while I admit, but I'm the kind of person who gets bored with something easily and then picks it up again later. Later is now.

this arabian thing looks so good, wow ...

I'm glad you like it. That's actually the area I'm satisfied with. The Carousel Caravan Courtyard is being a real pain right now. I may retract my previous statement when I said this is all you'll see of Arabian Coast until release...

From what I understand, DisneySea is more spread out than Disneyland, so I imagine that the crowds would be thinner. I do know however that DisneySea has lower attendance than Disneyland (honestly, what park in a Disney resort has higher attendance than the Magic Kingdoms?). Glad to hear you had a great time, the park looks amazing and I really hope to go one day. Now that I have both of the stateside Disney Resorts under my belt, I'm eyeing Paris or Tokyo next.

Let me reiterate that these are not new screens. I had to get a new photo host since all my old screens became big red x's. Thanks again for the kind comments!

    STILL IN SCENARIO EDITOR?!!!
THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN DOING?!

    secondly-

if that pic of the Arabian Coast is 'not up to standard' ........ :OMG: :OMG:

please god, spare me from whatever 'up to standard' may be.
    i am not worthy.

Tokyo Disney Sea has really caught up with Tokyo Disneyland.
    Tokyo Disneyland - 12.9 Million
Tokyo Disney Sea - 12.1 Million
Tokyo Disney Sea is the only second gate that has caused the Magic Kingdom's attendance to actually drop (16+ million pre 2001).

And as usual, great work on the park.

Are you saying you have spent more than two years in the Scenario Editor?

    Anyways, looks great.

Now, did you not make some DisneyLand Park? Because one could make a Grand Unified Theory of Disney-Based RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 Parks, containing a multi-map .zip file, featuring a DisneyLand, DisneySea, DisneyAir (I think someone made this once!!) and DisneySpace (Walt Disney himself was a big fan of space), all on 256x256 maps, and possibly featuring more maps!! Sorry, but thinking about RCTNW's MTX project really makes me make a major multi-map mood!! And alliteration.

Yup, I've spent more than 2 years in the scenario editor. Still goin in it too.

And yes, I made a Disneyland Park, you can find the download on the Runner-Up page. And yes again, Disneyland, DisneySea, and the Walt Disney Studios are all part of the same resort, but I'm not going to have the "in between" maps (although I am considering doing the TTC map).
  • Lloyd%s's Photo
The TTC is a must, i've toyed with the idea many times.
  • gymkid dude%s's Photo
I feel like this is the first and only park in history to have a strong shot at spotlight, while still in the scenario editor.

    Incredible.
