(Archive) Advertising District / Maurer-Sohne X-Car coaster RCT2

For a quick break i tried my hand at recreating the new compact Maurer-Sohne X-Car coaster, similar to that of Drayton Manors new coaster in RCT2.
After 7mins and some track merging this is what i got....

BUT.. does anyone know if it is possible to 'hack' a vertical hill lift or something so the ride can work?.. ive tried using shuttle mode and stuff with no luck. The only ride i know with a vertical hill lift in the game off hand is the suspended coaster 8@

Don't take my word for it as I am no hack maestro, but I seem to remember somebody saying that it was not possible to have a vertical lift hill. I may very well be wrong though.

I could do it for you, no problem.

Just mark the track you want 'lifted' in a different color and send it to mark.boersma@gmail.com

It looks pretty cool..... I might have to try that.

Even I if you can get the vertical lift to work, then there's still a problem: the type of train. X-car coaster have normal sit-down trains and the only coaster types working on an inverted stretch of track are the 4D and flying types. As soon as a sitdown car hits the inverted track the game will crash (not even an error trapper)

The layout looks great, maybe more room for a final brake run at the end would do. I'm not quite sure that the first element after the vertical lift would be comfortable though. Oh yeah, and you might have to fiddle with that loop a little to make merging possible, like make it two quarter ones instead and modify the rest of the layout accordingly.

Tyandor brings up a good point, but I think there are ways/different trains around that.

Tyandor brings up a good point, but it would only be for a couple of seconds anyway and there's no other way really to do the ride accurately without having the trains glitch.

Uhm, Phatage... it doesn't work at all. Only coaster trains that can work beneath or above the track will allow the track to work. Any other train will let the game crash... it's not a matter of having the correct sprites for upside down since a twister coaster won't work whil it has the upside down sprites,

    Thanks for the replies peeps.

I am totally aware about the crashing aspect of sit-down coasters when they go inverted. However at the moment i am focusing on getting a complete circut. In other words i will probably use the 4th Dimension Coaster when i can get the lift to work.

Im changing the B&M track with a different type (LIM Coaster Track) to make it look more real, in terms of a compact coaster.
Some of the inversions of the new coaster are just too crazy to do in the game which is a massive downer, but that was also obvious from the start.....
I know that the X-Car coaster is available in RCT3 or one of its ad-ons though :@

I wont be releasing the coaster... but i hope it gave ppl some sorta inspiration to play around and try to recreate some of these new alternative coasters coming about.. like that Screaming Squirrel thing.

note: this is one of the first things WME put in anti. So it's OLD by now. ;)

    Uhm...

This was in Myth of the Lost Gem, actually. I'd post the download to it but for whatever reason NE doesn't have it anymore. Which means i don't either... :'( .

Though technically that was a lifted large half loop, and not a vertical one. Still, same hack.

Well, I would kind of like to know just how to do it in Rct2. Does it require WinHack? Also, does the lifthill section function as a normal lifthill (you know, where you can change the speed and stuff)? I'd download Myth of the Lost Gem and just see if I can figure it out, but... .sv4. Someday I need to find out where my Rct1 CD is at.

While I'm asking about hacks, is it possible in Rct2 to get more than one train on a merged track ride? I think I've seen it before, but I don't know how to do it if it's on powered launch mode. Maybe it'd work if I used the Beast trainer instead of 8 Cars?

    Thanks for any help.

Well powered launch mode is powered launch mode. So if you're familiar with how to get multiple trains on LIM track (like how you did it in scenarios?), whether it is making the station longer, or something. I'm not sure, but I've had multiple trains on a merged track, but I don't remember where or how. Sorry.

I do have otaka falls (unfinished park of wme).. I do believe i used a loop launch in an unfinished coaster there. But yes, it requires hex-editting.

Pages to learn the basics of hex-editting in LL (very usable as a step-up to rct2):

    and...
