Related Games / RCT3 Wild! Night Time Issue

As you may know Wild! has a severe lag issue at night time (even more severe than before). Frontier is working on a fix for it, but I have found a temporary solution. Using a program called "Security Task Manager" (google for it), remove the task that reads something like SecuRom (similar task managing programs can probably accomplish the same thing, but Windows task manager won't display the process). SecuRom is the copy protection program that has been known to be causing the bug. Wild! uses new copy protection as you can tell since it requires the Wild! cd to play unlike Soaked!

Just wanted to share this finding with anyone who absolutely HAD to have night time mode...

Actually I bought WILD, and am accessing the WILD files when I play by using the original RCT3 disc.......and I experinece NO lag, in fact my fps have drastically increased with this game....can't wait for the patch.....I'll be playing at 60 fps even at night......

I was actually reading about this on the Atari forums and it seems to be a widespread problem.

Now, if only I could get Wild! working.

i too use the original RCT3 disk and dont experience much lag, and my computer isnt that up to date. i know u can use the wild CD to run the game, but i dont. i just use the original.

Yeah that must be it. I haven't tried using the RCT3 disk yet (as I haven't had much time to play). The RCT3 disk would use the old copy protection, thus making this not an issue. I was not even aware that the original RCT3 disk would run the game so thanks for the heads up.

I too am noting an increase in framerate. But it seems when things start getting bogged down (really big parks) that increase is no longer noticeable.

The original RCT3 disk still has the lag. i always play on the original disk and I got from 70 fps to 1/2 a fps.

There is a patch now that fixes the issue.
