Well im doing A level fine art amongst other things, and the project we are doing at the moment are African faces and African fabrics. This is interesting doing it because you have to combine the two and produce a painting on a 4x4 foot canvas. Well a part of the project we had to draw four faces. Here are my two favourite ones, I suppose it will be good to see other things than rct2 screens so enjoy! J K

This picture we had to draw a face and then draw lines down the face to reflect ancient bronze casting done in africa ages ago.
This picture you had to scribble and not really take your pencil off the page. This style is great and faster than the other one.

Faces are amongst the hardest things to draw, along with hands, in my opinion.

Yeah hands are wierd aswell. The best tip you can have for drawing faces is draw what you see not what you think. J K

Ok here is my big 4x4 foot canvas. Seriously its big! It comes up to about my waist. So here it is, two of the faces your'll of seen already but this is a selection of african faces, combined with an african background sample. I used a William Morris technique and repeated the square. Hopefully its effective ive just finished it about half an hour ago. This is all in acrylic paint so ofcourse I had to use alot of it. Kevin OfflineVery Nice.

I like the african style of it and the technique you used was very affective as well. The shading on the faces is pretty goo also, gives a pretty nice 3-Dimensional look.

4x4 foot canvas! That is pretty big. I've always wanted to do a painting or drawing on a large canvas. Allows you to put in more detail into it... but I'll have to do that on my own when I have the time and finish my other art class projects.

 But yeah, that's pretty cool.

Any reason why you only draw tribal-natives? Curious. I like the lined face the best. JBruckner

Nice. The bottom left head could use an earring or necklace, looks weird how the other heads have accesories but that one doesn't. CoasterCrzy

Just replying in a topic, you can take it as stalking if you wish. The Japanese topic might've been close to stalking, but I just had the intention to post something random.Edited by CoasterCrzy, 14 March 2006 - 12:17 AM.
