once -- boring movie with GREAT music. holy crap that soundtrack is awesome.

there will be blood -- ummm.. .wow
daniel day-lewis absolutely blew me away. it's the best performance by an actor i've ever seen. hands down.
the movie itself was great too.. i've never watched a movie that i had to think so much about; i literally thought about the movie for 3 days after. straight up.

Watched Snatch last night, was quite entertaining.

Meant to be going to the cinema tonight with my mate and his brid (and my bird) to see some shitty looking film called my accidental husband. Woo.

Just saw Semi-Pro tonight. I didn't really like it. I laughed a few times, and it wasn't really worth the $8.50 I paid to see it.

Rocket Science (which was really really good) and The Nines (which wasn't very good at all).

We supposedly had a blizzard over the weekend, but actually it was just an enormous amount of snow

    20 inches in 24 hours

    anyhoo

    Michael Clayton
    The Kingdom
    Kicking and Screaming

all in one day..liked them all but honestly I expected Michael Clayton to be much better

    Eastern Promises
-Afwul. I don't have high standards for movies, either. Basically, the movie is based around the premise that if they leave enough holes in the plot, it makes it interesting. What you're left with is a movie with a whole bunch of plot holes and a head-scratcher ending. Also, full male frontal nudity, which is a plus if you've ever wanted to see Aragorn naked, or if you're JJ.

    Meet Joe Black
-Great movie. Acting was excellent, plot was inspiring, and the music is great. Insanely American, happily ever after ending, but so well done that I'll forgive them. I love the sound track, but I knew the score years before I ever saw the movie. Pretty nice shots of the chick from Mallrats to keep you action fans at bay, too.

'Across the Universe' and 'Ratatouille.' Both were good.

Eastern Promises was an excellent film. Viggo Mortenson was great in it, too. I think he was up for best actor this year, too.

I just watched History of Violence. Also excellent.

    Gallipoli I believe.

Very good, though the ending was really rather abrupt - it left the story very open ended, if you know what I mean.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Excellent, instantly one of my favorite movies.

^I should really dig that out again. Haven't watched it since my last Circa Survive binge.

Airplane, cause it was on Comedy Central. Still a great movie. 8/10.

How was this movie any good? It was incredibly boring, incredibly predictable, and had no ending to speak of. I just don't get why so many people liked this.

    i just watched rocket science.
    that movie is fucking fantastic.

although the kid with the stutter made me irritated. i realize that the whole story is about that.. but part of me is just so frustrated that he can't just spit out the words. ridiculous.

but overall a great film. well worth the watch.

    IRON MAN oh god.

    go see it.

rocket science was indeed a great film, thorp.

i saw iron man last night, as well. robert downey jr. surprised the hell out of me; he was terrific.
but i thought paltrow sucked and there weren't enough scenes with him in the suit. besides that, it was great.

^I agree. There also wasn't as much fighting as I expected from the trailers, but the part in Afghanistan was great.
  • Xcoaster%s's Photo
I saw Iron Man again. Still awesome. Go see it more.

La Passion De Jeanne D'Arc — i bought it a while back on a whim, and have hardly even watched it (something i do a lot, unfortunitely.) today, though, i did watch it, and it absolutely floored me! one of the most beautiful / horrific / inspiring / depressing / whatever movies ever made!
