Not happy holidays?
You racist, non PC piece of archaic rubbish. Did you miss out the Jews because you're an anti-semetic bastard? Also, because African is full of those "blackies" did you assume they don't have Christmas?
People like you make me sick.Edited by Nic, 23 December 2005 - 08:53 AM.

Hmm. I guess this is a poll. A pretty badly worded one, too. Uh. I like Christmas cos I get presents and Christmas Trees are funky. -

I'm not really an uber Christian but I've gotta say that all the mass consumerism really bothers me. For me the perfect Christmas doesn't include everyone getting a dozen packages to open. It would be that everyone just gets a couple of well thought-out gifts that really mean something. -

Same as ekimmel.
The commercialism of Christmas is a real problem for me. Don't mind the sales and all that, just don't reference the Christmas period before Thanksgiving. Too commercial IMO.
And now we're trying to be politically correct? Jeez, get a life people. I've got no problems with someone saying happy holidays. With channakuh and kwanzaa being the same time frame, that's fine.
But the people who get upset when someone says 'Merry Christmas', that's just going too far. Calling a Christmas card a holiday card, a Christmas tree a holiday tree? Nope, too far with the PC. This is too much people. There's a time and place for political correctness, but not this time. -

I have to totally agree with Rick on this, I'd rather have 1 present that means something to me than get shitloads of presents that have no significance what so ever. It annoys me how people think Christmas is all about presents.
And I'm not Christian one bit. -

What does being Christian have to do with getting loads of gifts?
If anything, Christians should support the idea of one meaningful gift -- isn't that exactly what Christ was? One incredibly meaningful gift? -

i like to think of christmas as a pagan thang, as opposed to a christian thing.
I love dem trees. -

That's what I mean, I was saying that it should be one meaningful gift...and I aren't Christian. -

I only buy people presents so that I'm not a Scrooge. I only accept present so that I'm not a scrooge. Either way, I don't want to spoil other people's "special day". I, however, don't regard it as a special day for myself in any way. This is for a few reasons. It's partly due to my agnosticism, and also due to the fact that christmas is more of a special day for the companies providing all the gifts and mass advertising than it is for the people who believe the day existed in the first place. Companies are thinking $$$ instead of the actual meaning of the day. As far as I'm concerned, if you're a believer, believe it, and celebrate it. If you're not, then see it for what it is, a day (that in your mind) never occured anyway, and a day where mass consumerism, marketing, and money comes to the forefront of people's self-concious mind. To me, this is what Christmas is. It is a day where mass consumerism is at its yearly peak, covered my a guise of "giving", "joyfulness", and "spiritual well being". My outspoken views are often not agreed with. But believe me, if you are religious, and Christmas is therefore important to you, I completely respect your view, even though I don't agree with it. However, I'd also hope you realise what Christmas has become, and I hope you feel sad becasue of this. -

I'm all for the presents. Definitely. I don't care about the whole spiritual side, and I don't care about meaningful presents. Dude, if you're gonna get all deep about giving and receiving, Christmas isn't the time to do it. Wait till someone's in hospital or something. -

I'm agnostic, and atheist depending on the day of the week, and hell I think Christmas is great. People all putting up nice pretty lights, and nice pretty trees, and exchanging gifts, and people are happy (unless they're complete grumps) (that's you Atlus), its a nice time of year really. -

This pretty much sums it all up for me, too. -

The good thing about christmas is that i got a few days off work, so i can stay in bed for a while. The ONLY reason i will be up early tomorrow is because my mum wont let my sisters open their presants until i get up.
Good job they havent pissed me off today
Strange thing everyone wants to celebrate jesus' birthday, how many people actually beleive in him, or god. Still, free presents!
