Ask the Experts / RCT and WinXP

I am having problems trying to run RCT1 on WinXP. I can install the game fine but I always get the 'exception error' message on the main title screen when I load the game.

I have read through the article on the knowledge base and followed it perfectly but that did not seem to work for me. I have the drexler patch, but dont have the official patch for RCTLL. This is because the link at the official site does not open up any patch what so ever and the link here at the station just gives me a 'page can not be found' web page.

I would realy appreciate it if someone could help me with this. If I can't get it to run then I will never be able to finish my final parks, The Burning Secret and Secrets Of Venice.

I managed to get the official patch from Adamrct (Thanks) but I get this message when trying to install it...

"Unable to update files"
"Unrecoknized game version, wrong language or game files are corrupted".

I have still have that prollem every now and then, just right click on the 'rct.exe' icon, go to 'Properties', then 'Compatibility. Then check 'Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 98 / Windows Me'. Then just run rct like normal, and it should work. At least, that worked for me anywho.

(btw, you shouldn't need that patch if ya try to do it me way.)

I installed the drexler patch on before the official once which is why the official patch wouldn't instal and therefor why RCT wouldn't run. But it is all fine now, thanks for trying to help.
