Don't care for the case. Wait and find a X-Fi Sound Card on sale. I got mine for $70 + tax on sale at Best Buy. Get a modular power supply it makes putting the computer together so much easier and reduces alot of extra wires. A good one would be this one here;

And I think you will find the heatsinks that come with the current X2 line of processors are plenty enough unless you plan to do some major overclocking. I managed to overclock a 4400+ up 10%-15% on a stock heatsink with idle temps at or below 30*C.Edited by chapelz, 06 February 2006 - 03:04 PM.

$100 for a power supply? Jesus. it's pretty cool, though.
i might try some overclocking with this processor... so i went ahead and bought a high end heatsink. plus, it's always good to have decent cooling.
as for the soundcard... i wanted had considered getting the X-Fi, but meh. it's all the same. this one came highly recommended from a few people. no need to spend $50 more on a small upgrade.
the case is hot. i think it's prettysimplistic and tough looking. though, that's my style...

That's a very nice configuration... Not the ultimate, but very good. How much is total? btw you have selected a nice sound card, but a good speaker set is more crucial to actually enjoy it.
Well I'm not going to get a new computer soon, but I'm intending to upgrade mine. I mean my system is only two years old and most stuff is relatively up-to-date: P4 3GHz 800Mhz FSB, 1GB (400mhz, dualchannel), SB Audigy 2. However I still have an old AGP slot with a radeon 9800pro in it (very good card, but just outdated). I'm really glad they decided to bring out the 7800GS (performance between the 6800ultra and 7800GT) for us AGP owners. However I discovered I was also shafted with a 250 watt PSU (might explain the slightly below average 3DMark score.....) so that has to be replaced as well. Ah well, I want to wait for the price to drop anyway and in november is the biggest computer event again, so that might be the best time to get it. I have a Dell btw -

About 5 people in my WoW guild got X2 4800+s and returned them. WoW, and for that matter, a lot of PC apps do not support dual core yet.
Why do you need such a fast system?
Maybe you should save your money to move out of your parents house. -

i am aware of the "lack of support" for dual cores. however, it still runs very nicely. only the highend Athlon 64 bit processors have better preformance. the only thing that should be a "problem" are games, since there's only Quake 4 that supports it at the moment. other applications support it just fine. i wanted a system that had the capability to tackle video editing and graphic design mainly. perhaps even CAD. gaming isn't a big deal, since i really don't give a shit if i get one less frame per second than i would have if i got the regular Athlon 64.About 5 people in my WoW guild got X2 4800+s and returned them. You are a huge tool, and the fact that you have a Razr makes me want to burn mine. -
