General Chat / Cedar Point... Intamin again..

So those of you who have been following Cedar Points "Project 2007" It seems that Cedar Point will be getting yet another Intamin coaster. Another red Intamin at that...

You can't see much in the pictures but I guess the picture that shows the track has been taken down from PointBuzz! Some say it is going to be an Aqua Trax, I really don't want a Water Coaster.. Others are saying a Intamin Ball Coaster..

So what do you guys think??

IMO, it's too early to determine anything of what type of coaster it is judging from those screens.

Yeah, I'm guessing the speculation is mostly just coming from what kinds of coasters they don't have that Intamin offers. In which case, yeah, those two make the most sense. I'd be more interested in a Aqua Trax, but a Ball Coaster might be a nice change from seeing who can add the biggest coaster.

No, there has been pictures of the track.

He's right. There was a better photo on WeeWeeSlap, but it seems the site's down.

Weeweeslap had a quality picture of the track outline under the tarp taken by CJD, but the site is currently undergoing sporatic downtime. The picture showed a clear outline of large 4 tube intamin track VERY reminiscent of the track on the lift of Atlantis Adventure at Lotte World. I'm thinking it's almost for sure an Aquatrax, which should be a nice adddition to Cedar Point's arsenal of rides.

^ It would be a nice arsenal...until SFMM does an Aquatrax ride. But I doubt it, since SFMM (I don't think) doesn't like Intamin rides.

But it's interesting to hear that SFMM and CP are going for the "Most Coasters in A Park" record still. Why don't they stop fighting like horny schoolgirls fighting over a male teacher?

...nevermind...I'm just rambling...but I do think SFMM might add an Aquatrax coaster...just to one-up Cedar Point 'cause right now, they're still fighting over the title...and it's been that way for years...

Maybe they want to go for most inversions with this one. Something like Colossus at Thorpe Park, just with another one or two Quad Heartline Roll(s) ...

If they do that they're going to break the inversion record in the process. I'm guessing 11 or 12 inversions, and don't tell me that it's not possible. Actually considering the "bigger is better" style of thinking at the 'Point it seems more likely than either the aquatrax or the ball coaster...

    Just my 2 cents.

    Whoops, meant just model :)

Probably going to be the first Aquatrax with an inversion...if there isn't one yet.

Aquatrax can't have inversions due to their unique sitting position. Unlesss Intamin adds some awkward taller backing allowing for a different restraint system or over the shoulder harnesses, which would look very ugly on the Aquatrax cars IMO. I think this will be a very nice Aquatrax, but no record breaker. After all, maybe the theme park chains are finally realizing records are not what most coaster riders care about as much as the overall enjoyment and originality of the ride.

One would hope based on the fact that Millennium Force is still favored by the general visiting public that the message would get heard that you must build a solid-well rounded ride in order to make it the best. Records are not enough.
