I finally got to get my LL disc working and have really been interested in Wooden Coasters. Anyone got any good coasters, preferably ones with nice helixes. -

it's in troy's sunken retreat, or whatever. foozy made it.

I have the very selfish and shameless intention of making the best LL woodie ever before I leave this place/it closes. But these are some of the ones that it will be very difficult to beat:
Mountain Chase (the ultimate classic)
The Phalanx by Bokti (in WTF)
Kentaur (made by Foozy, in Troy's Ancient Resort)
Fire Dragon
Nagas (very good)
Black Magic at Auroras Bay
Avesta at Raindrop Riviera (IMO)
A lot of the woodies in Visions Amusement Park (third oldest spotlight, proof that Foozy was making as good woodies four years ago as are being made today).
A lot made by Buster, I think.
There are tons more that I'm forgetting.Edited by Panic, 26 May 2006 - 04:53 PM.

That one was pretty special. It took me ages to appreciate it but I do now. -

How could I forget Posix!
You'll definitely be wanting Nagas, without a doubt. Probably also get Kronecraft's Allure Lake as well, for Rigor Mortis. -

psst. rigor mortis was in audrix towers. instinct, i believe, was in allure lake. -

Rigor Mortis has been one of my favorites for a while. It's pacing is so perfect it's disturbing.
Mountain Chase just makes everything else look pitifully slow, even Mala's larger woodies like Thunderstruck don't come close to the speed this thing appears to have when you watch it. Absolutely fantastic pair.
Yeah, those are my two favorites in LL... There's that one WME made in God's Isle last h2h season two... That one is insane....

Caesus is pretty good. I think where it falls a tiny bit short is because it is simply a bit too smooth and doesn't have the masterful rollicking unpredictably that some of these other ones have. The end though, with almost no brakes required, is a masterpiece.
I think The Phalanx may still be my all-time favorite, even though it's a bit short. Kentaur is a ballsy layout but also has more flaws such as a couple of slow spots and a couple of spots with straight track for a while, things that drag it down for me. Yyo created a GCI terrain woodie in his unreleased solo "cocobeanz" that I personally like just as much: it's got the same work-of-art interaction with the terrain but is more concise.Edited by Panic, 27 May 2006 - 09:33 PM.

Sorry for the double post. A few more that I'm shocked I haven't thought of already.
Vigilante at BGSS is amazing.
Grizzly Run at Arnos Springs is IMO one of the most underrated of all time. It's brilliant.
Emperor at NE's Masters Isle
Mustang at Tropico Cove (if Outlaw's up here then that should be too)
