Now, my question is, do all 14 year olds in the UK write like this now? Or is it just one big joke? At first I assumed the latter, but it all seems too consistent and widespread for that. What the fuck is happening?

I use Myspace, and I have just over 2 years till I'm 16.

But yeah, all 14 year olds talk like that now. It's annoying. Doesn't Marshys sig say something about this though?

I understand most of it apart from the 'pya' (?) but that doesn't make it any less crushing...

Surely it takes just as long to learn how to type like that than it does in saving any time typing stuff out?!
    It's really depressing.

They talk like that in America too, I hate it. It looks and sounds so stupid. But Im getting old.... 8@

    That was English?!

I also use myspace. Not for the popularity thing. For friends. And i speak English on it, too. And yeah, you can be 14 now to use myspace.

I've yet to see any evidence of any friend-like activity occurring on myspace that couldn't otherwise be kept within the private confines of msn. The whole thing is a completely alien culture to me.
And anyway, if people type like that on it then I think i'd be actively against joining up.

i refuse to talk to anyone who types like that.

Thankyou mantis. I find this ridiculous, even on these boards to a certain extent.
