I figure I have enough posts/status/whatever here where I can ask for your help in making me money. Mods feel free to move this or whatever, but I think it's okay. I'm involved in a few paid survey websites where you basically fill out surveys for companies regarding new products, films, and such, and they pay you in money or points (which you later redeem for money or material things). What I'm getting at is that if I refer you, and you sign up (it's completely free, mind you), and complete a survey, I'll get $1.00 or $1.50 (depending on the site). I don't expect much of a response, but I figured I'd give it a shot here, since at the least I might get a dollar or two. And hell, if a lot of people do go along with this, I could even take some amount of the money I get from referrals (25-50%?) and donate it to NE.
Anyways, just so you realize that I'm not trying to get you to sign up to one of those "free computer after completing a few of our quick and easy offers (which will cost you around $1500)" things, here's the rundown of the only three survey sites I've found so far that really seem to be worth their salt, and don't just give you entries into raffles or something as compensation. Oh, and if you really don't care and are just dying to make me money, skip ahead to the text in blue.
The first, Pinecone Research, is the best, in my opinion. They send me a new survey about once a week, the surveys are straightforward and professional, and I get a five dollar check in the mail about a week afterward. Plus, I occasionally also get to try out new products that they send in the mail. I can't say exactly what I've gotten so far, but I've gotten about 3 dinners out of it (one of which was really good), and several bottles of soda (it was never introduced in the US though, which was too bad, because I really liked it). So far I've made at least $200 with Pinecone. However, this doesn't really matter to you, since you can usually only sign up if you find one of their banners on a random website (I believe I found mine on Deviantart). I just figured it'd be a good example for the experience I have with this sort of thing.
The second, www.mysurvey.com is about the same, except that they don't send surveys as often, and they only give points, which you can redeem once you have 1000 (which is equal to $10.00 worth). They're alright, in that the surveys are usually pretty short, but it's just annoying because it takes a while to accumulate money since they don't send out the good surveys as regularly. I haven't redeemed my points yet, but I only have about $17.00 worth. The best thing about them though is their referral service. If I refer someone who is eligible to their website (At least 14 and in the continental US) and this person completes their introductory survey (which I think entails telling them your personal information, etc), I get $1.50. Honestly though, if you're interested in actually doing these surveys and making money for yourself, I'd recommend the third company more highly, even though this one will make me more money if I refer you.
The third is www.globaltestmarket.com. I've never gotten any products from them, but they send surveys about once every day or two, and they're also usually pretty quick and easy. The only problem I have with them is that unlike Pinecone, where you're prequalified for any surveys you take, with these you first have to answer a few questions about your background each time before you start the actual survey, and if you don't match what they want (which happens about 75% of the time with me), you only get about $.25. If you do match what they want, then you get about $2.5-4.00 (I had one that was around $20 though). They also offer free movie screenings and a lot of the surveys I've taken for them have been for different movie trailers. Like mysurvey, they also have a point system, with each point worth about $.05, and you need to accumulate 1000 points ($50) before you can redeem. However, the surveys are so easy that it isn't that hard to get there if you just keep at it, even if you're like me and you don't qualify for a lot of the surveys and usually only get about a quarter at a time. It just takes a little while, but not a whole lot of effort. Anyways, if I refer someone to this site and they complete a survey (it might take a while before you actually get accepted to one, I don't know), I get a dollar. So it's actually easier for me to get money from referrals with mysurvey, but if you want to make money, you'll probably want to stick with this one instead.
So if you're interested, PM me your e-mail address and I'll refer you right away, to whichever one you want (or both). Like I said before, the mysurvey one is best for me in the short run, and not as good for you in the long run, and the globaltestmarket one is better for you in the long run, though still okay for me in the short run. And if enough people are interested, I'll figure out some way to donate part of my abundant profits () to the common good.
And I'm sorry if my greedy capitalistic tendencies offend you. I'm reading Marx's Communist Manifesto, right now, if it makes you feel any better.
EDIT: Shoot, that was a long-ass post. Sorry. At least you're well informed. -

ROFL. Mantis so pwn'd SU.
Anyway, Ryan, you've got enough tenure to get away with something like this, so I'll let it stand. Plus you were pretty humble with it and not all in your face like n00bs might be. -

Do you have much choice over products you can test? It sounds slightly interesting. If you can PM me more info, I might send you an Email. -

Not really. The products are just sort of a side perk and you really don't get them that often. You'll usually complete a survey where you say what you like and don't like about a potential new product some company is thinking about producing, and if you're lucky at the end they'll say something like "If we send you this product, would you be willing to try it out?" and if you say yes it shows up in a day or two. Then you try it out and fill out a survey for it. So far all the products I've gotten have been things I've found useful. The soda was by far the coolest though, since I could be drinking a bottle of it (with the black and white test label), and people would ask "what's that?" and I'd be all "I can't say... it's top secretDo you have much choice over products you can test? It sounds slightly interesting. If you can PM me more info, I might send you an Email.
." I think whether or not they send you the product depends on how enthusiastic you are about it while taking the survey.

I've always thought the "too good to be true" maxim applied to just about everything, but I don't know that I've ever read a post by a trustworthy member about such a system. It is tempting, but I just find it hard to believe that these three sites aren't any different from the other sites that give you adware and don't fulfill their advertisements.
In any case, I may do it just because. Money is just so tempting when it's this easy to get...
I'll PM you when I get back on my home computer. -

well Pinecone does have good reviews, I didn't look into any others
http://forums.slickd...?sduid=0&t=5568 - anything that gets good ratings here and goes on this long is valid.

Good news, everyone! I can refer people to PineCone Research for a little while. You just need to be 18-24. I don't get anything for referring you, but it's definitely worth it to join. You get a five dollar check for each survey you complete, and the surveys don't take long at all. Anyways, it's definitely the best of the ones I recommended, just before it wasn't possible to join unless if you got lucky. So send me a PM with your e-mail address if your interested, and I'll send you the referral e-mail.
Also, I only had two people actually respond regarding the other two survey groups, so if you're still interested in them, send me a PM with your e-mail address.
EDIT: I just discovered you have to be in the US for PineCone. Sorry. You still have good ole' GlobalTestMarket, though. -
