General Chat / Firefox

Hey everyone.
So I got Firefox. And it's similar to Maxthon but there's a few things that are annoying me and I can't be bothered to search for the extensions.
SO I thought i'd be lazy and ask you guys if you already have things that can achieve the following:

- clicking on a link and dragging it to any part of the screen will open it in a new tab in the background (i.e. not activate it).
- clicking a bookmark from the bookmark toolbar will open it in a new tab in the background, instead of the current tab.
- double clicking a tab in the tab toolbar closes it.
- F2 goes left one tab, F3 goes right one tab.
- a 'set this page to reload every x seconds' feature.
- when a link is set to open in a new window (e.g. target="_blank") I want it to open in a new tab, not window.
- opening a new tab opens it to the right of the tab i'm currently on, rather than on the far right of all the tabs.

For the first one I would have thought the mouse gestures extension would help but it doesn't.
I might put more if I can think of them.

Tabbrowser Preferences should cover the new tabs and whatnot(though you'll have to tweak it a little), as far as the others, I dont know.

So apologies are most definitely in order. I tried Opera too and preferred it. Thanks for your help, hobbes - maybe someone else will read this and use those.
As for opera...i'd still like to be able to drag links to open them (my middle click button is shit - i have a tiny mouse).

using anything but firefox makes you look unbelievable stupid.
that's just the way it is.

mouse gestures let you close the active tab and open new ones and stuff.
basically, i only use it to close tabs.

opening something in a new tab and not window is done by middle-mouse-button clicking. but i guess you and your stoneage pc () don't have a three button mouse. so, need to change it in firefox' prefs.

disable targets for download (prevents download links opening a blank window)

I could never get adblock to work for me right. It always fucked over my flash and stuff.

And how do you like Opera mantis. Id considered using it, but a dont want to pay money, and b the free version doesnt have jscript.

Well it seems to be working fine so far. I still can't drag and drop links but apart from that's it's easy to use. It's got a useful thing where you can just type 'g xxxxxxx' into the address bar and it'll search for 'xxxxxxx' in google. nice.

It turned fully free a while ago.
