General Chat / OLY MOTHER OF THEMING!

  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
Saw this posted on TPR. Check out photos of this new theme park, and all the amazingly detailed and intricate theming they have, capped off by a fully themed Superman Ultimate Flight!

This is what we can only dream of in the U.S., since the labor and handicap codes would basically make building something like this about ten times more expensive here. But between this and Black Mamba, I'm effing jealous.

Oh, and the giant octopus wrapping its tenticles up the supports of the Huss Giant Frisbee is cool as hell. :D

I can't get over the monumentality of the theming around their S:UF, and all the details are just awesome. This would be a Spotlight in RCT even if someone just recreated it!

what does that have to do with superman? still, it's unbelivable.

Holy shit. OK i'm definitely gonna try and go to China next year :D

Finally a themepark that seems to look like I always thought they should look.
    Amazing!!

(pity that China is rather far away from here....)

I was hoping to find some pictures of this place. Just make sure that if you visit, you go to the correct one. There's another Happy Valley in China, but without the spinning coaster or flyer.

It's actually some kind of giant rattlesnake monster. Of course an octopus or squid might have made sense... Still, very cool.

what does that have to do with superman? still, it's unbelivable.

It's the same design, just overthemed.

Anyways, the best way I can think of describing that park is as "epic." Everything is hugely overdone to the point of Rct theming. It reminds me of IOA's Lost Continent, except a bazillion times bigger and detailed. It's enough that I'd definitely put it in my top ten theme parks that I've been to, or want to visit.

Yet despite all that, they have a SLC.

Damn!...that's awesome...I LOVE the theme for the flying, that castle(or whatever it is), is brilliant. That's what the theme parks should look like, but there's an obstacle...$$$Money$$$...It must have costed a lot.
I'd love to check it out...

It's like I've died and gone to theme park heaven.

EDIT: Except for the Vekoma SLC.

There are aspects of the park to like, but it is a poor comparison when matched with TDS. The centre peice is stunning! I also love how the snake (octopus?) wraps around the supports of that flatride. What gets me is the fact that you can still see supports. Also note that some rides such as the SLC isn't themed at all. In other areas, such as that water ride, the themeing looks like it wasn't done to it's full potential. A better comparison would be with IOA. I see many similarities between the two, aside from the fact that IOA is seperated into different areas where as this just seems to keep a steady theme throughout.

Thanks for bringing this up Corkscrewed! I'd never heard of it. If/when I'm in China, I'll be sure to visit.

Well I know that. Its just the theming reminds me more of Lord of the Rings rather than Superman.

Then again my knowledge of Superman isn't very good, anyway.

That flying roller coaster is a clone of Superman: Ultimate Flight. That is all. The theming has nothing to do with Superman. The name of this coaster is Shui Jing Shen Yi, which according the www.rcdb.com, means something like "The Crystal Wings". Sort of fantasy sounding because it's apparantly themed to magical fantasy stuff, not Superman. It has nothing to do with Superman, except for the coaster layout.

*waits for someone to say that Superman is magical fantasy stuff*

Hmm, the architecture and theming is brilliant no doubt, but it seems to all lack that warm atmosphere that makes in enjoyable to go to the parks. Judging by the screens they could have done a better job at combining both theming and park feel to add to the greatness of this park, as opposed to just throwing a bunch of rides and theming togather. Also juding by the screens every thing looks so cramped in a small area, I dont know I am just used to the aprks spread out. Still amazing theming no doubt

It looks impressive, but I find it overkill...moneywise and for aesthetics. It would be cooler if it looked like it enhanced the ride and the ride enhanced it, but it just looks like the ride is getting swallowed up in ruins/mountains.
