Ask the Experts / RCT2

Ok, so I figured it's about time I got my RCT2 working. The problem is that when I open a park I can look at it for around 20secs then RCT2 just closes and i'm taken back to the desktop.
If you need anymore info just ask and i'll do my best to give it.

Any help here would be appreciated.

are there any official patches?

As far as I knew there were no patches so I just straight up installed it.

Edit: Hmm, I may have just got it working. No idea how but it isn't closing down straight away anyway. Thanks anyways.

Edit 2: Ah shit on a swizzle stick I lost it again. Last 10 secs then closes now though. Also tried a patch I did find which upgraded it to v3.2 or something.

yeah that patch is if your rct2 won't start up (at least I know that patch is there, it restores some register keys) .

I have heared of this problem before but don't know the solution (yet) sometimes re-installing will help but I doubt it works now .....

do you have this problem with other games to ?

I had that problem, it started out with being able to play for half an hour, but it quickly got to less than half a minute. And soon after that my computer automatically restarted. And then my computer crashed, I had it with rct1 also though. So you should check if your rct works normal, and if not, it could be your computer too .

Yeah it sounds more of a PC problem to me. Hmm, i've never heard of that before though. Wish i could help...

Uninstall > delete the WHOLE rct2 folder in programs/infograms

Then install it again.

edited- make sure you back up your saved games first
