well, here is the project I've been working on for a while. It is on the ProTour2 bench, so it's only 90x90, but it wasn't meant to be anything spectacular. Have fun:

That looks like a pretty good B&M layout, but ill have to give it further inspection in game when I get home and download it. One question from the overview, what is the theme of the barren dirt area in the upper corner?

It looks decent at best. That bottom section looks nice but treed to hell (it's an honest mistake though). The rides look pretty nice (the Beemer probably being the best). That dirt area looks pretty sloppy though. There is just too much flat, empty land for it to look good. It does look like it has some neat structures though and what little landscaping is there looks nice. I'd also like to know what the themes are of this (can't view it in game).

Nice job on finishing something though. It'll be interesting to see your next project.

@ride_exchanger: post-apocalyptic war-zone. I've had people tell me that it should be a lot more empty than it is, but... well, watev. The readme explains a lot.

@OLE: well, I have a kind of tendency to have to fill every space before I see something as "complete". As for the themes, there's a section generally representing seaside myths and legends, completely made up. And as for the upper section, that is supposed to be what Earth would be after a man-vs-machine war. Thanks.

I kinda figured it was something like that. It's a good idea but emptiness could be pulled off differently and better.... just leaving land flat just doesn't look good imo.

meh... rolling hills with laser/bullet-burnt craters is hard to do in RCT :p

Well what's the point of playing if you aren't going to try tough things?

tough things to try in RCT:
    -finish a park
    -make something people like

still working on both. One is getting more progress.

Why not make something you like?
  • Ling%s's Photo
Because I don't know how to do that anymore.
I spent the first five years after RCT came out building just coasters. So naturally, the parks looked horrible and had nothing but path and coasters. Then I found RCT-compo and tried to develop a better way to use the game. I had never even heard of an online community until then; or custom scenery for that matter. But now I guess the aspects fused, and to be happy with something, I have to believe other people actually care about what I did.

I'm sorry but i dont know whats with people not finishing parks. Its not so hard to do it i think. Any projects i didnt complete turned into another park. But thats just me...

people loose interest fast. Don't know why... That's part of the reason The Badlands lacks a total feel of "done"-ness

I like the battlefield[?] theme, some neat stuff in there. One problem I have is the placement of the lift, it seems awkward sticking out but other than that the layout is pretty cool. :)
