You can hear pretty much the whole album on www.myspace.com/funeralforafriend

    My initial reaction? Pretty disapointed.

The conversion from Casually Dressed to Hours was a predictable one...aiming at the more mainstream audience, but somehow keeping their edge. And Hours turned out to be a freakin' awesome album, almost as good as Casually Dressed and Seven Ways. But their new step 'forward' is a bad one. Once again, trying to appeal to the mainstream, but in process losing anything that made the band appealing in the first place. All of the songs hold the same tempo and hold no distinction, meaning no tracks really stick in your mind as beng any better or worse than the last. All of the songs are simply quite good. Just above average. The lyrics are ok at best, the guitar work is pretty uninspiring and the songs are far too formulaic. What used to be my favourite band whom I associated with seeing in a tiny venue (fibbers, york, uk) when they first started out, and having seen them develop and keep bringing out awesome tracks, I am really disapointed, and fear my days of going to see them live are over. But undoubtedly, their record sales will high

    Any one else's views?

Ok, you have exactly the same views as me.

They used to be my favourite band, but they're just slowly drifting away from everything that was good about them. I listened to the new album on myspace, and now i have no intention of going to buy it. As you said, every song just comes and goes, it's all the same and nothing sticks out.

The classics will always be the best, the real classics, the EP days. Casually dressed was awesome still, and Hours grew on me slowly, and yeah, became a pretty damn good album.

But seriously, it's a shame to see them go this way.

I actually thought the song "Goodbye My Lover" by James Blunt would make a good song.

What do you mean "would make a good song"? It's an absolute classic already Tornado
