Is this a albums everybody should have list or a list of ones you don't have? In either case you should trim some fat (good fat nonetheless, but face it, albums are expensive if you want hard copies)

I would take off Okanokos, just get the Low Level Owls and Peregrine afterwards (go from there afterwards) for The Appleseed Cast, get Rollercoaster (S/T) by Red House Painters first and then go from there, and I would probably take of The Arctic Monkeys, Neon Bible, and maybe The Verve (but that's just me).

    stuff to add:

Source Tags and Codes--...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
    Citrus--Asobi Seksu
    Future Perfect--Autolux
Everything All The Time--Band of Horses
    I'm Wide Awake It's Morning--Brigt Eyes
You Forgot it in People--Broken Social Scene
    Moon Pix, The Greatest--Cat Power
    Rehearsals for Departure--Damien Jurado
    Yellow House--Grizzly Bear
Deloused in the Comatorium--The Mars Volta
    Winners Never Quit--Pedro The Lion
    We are the Pipettes--The Pipettes
    Dummy--Portishead
    Spiderland--Slint
pretty much all of Wilco's catalogue

    and also (rap):
    Hell Hath No Fury--Clipse
    Boy in da Corner--Dizzee Rascal
    Madvillainy--Madvillain

    Arctic Monkeys? Seriously?

This topics' suggestions will vary greatly depending on what type of genre you listen to, but if you like Metal:
Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast
Judas Priest - Screaming For Vengence

    If you like "Modern Rock":
    Pearl Jam - Ten
    311- Grassroots

...and there are probably dozens of other albums I'm forgetting but these were the first that came to mind.

You guys don't seem to understand the concept of this thread. It's to post the music you think you're in need of that you don't have. The majority of the "fat" is stuff I already have in digital form and think I want; not soon nessisarily but if I'm going to make a checklist I'd make sure to have them on there.

And yes Jelly, I like them, whatever.

Jazz, I already have everything except the recent Airbag EP and Comlag EP reissues (Pablo Honey, The Bends, OK Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac, I Might Be Wrong Live Recordings, and My Iron Lung EP)...

Basically I got my first decent sound system (seperates) a few months ago and now I'm trying to get as much music as possible for it. If I see an album that is considered a must have or a classic then I add it to the list. Of course with some of the bands such as Muse I just want all their albums and other I've heard one or two songs and decided they are good.

    Busta Rhymes - The Coming
    Eminem - The Eminem Show
Immortal Technique - Revolutionary Volume 1
Immortal Technique - Revolutionary Volume 2
The Streets - A Grand Don’t Come for Free
    N-Dubz - ???
Roll deep - Rules and Regulations
Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks
    Pulp - Different Class
    Prodigy - Experience
2Pac - All Eyez on Me
Logistics - Now More Than Ever
    Snoop Dogg - Doggy Style
Queens of the Stoneage - Songs for the Deaf
Beastie Boys - Licensed to Ill
Beastie Boys - Check Your Head
    Nas - Illmatic
Enter Shikari - Take to the Skies
    Korn - Korn
    Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland
Rage Against the Machine - The Battle of Los Angeles
    Muse - Absolution
    Muse - Hullabaloo

i need to get the track(s) that my friend was helping Brian Wilson record about a week ago.

i don't really care if i have a hard copy (it's nice, but doesn't mean enough to me)--just as long as i have it.

    *clap clap*

And while I probably do read too much Pitchfork I don't rely on them to form my opinions for me; I watch videos of the bands involved on YouTube, I hunt down free downloads here and there. Most of the stuff on that list I already have in some form or another...

But since this thread has become a stone-throwing match rather than a music discussion how about changing the subject to the "NE essential album list", or even better: just close/delete the thread and forget about it.

    This thread is dead fools.

I'm considering putting together a thread to debate the "NE Essential Albums list" sorta thing. Basically a "if you don't own these you're missing out" list to help peoplez (me included) find excellent albums we'd otherwise miss or never hear about.

    :)
