You haven't read the qualities a Spotlight needs to qualify under, have you?

Also, you might want to d/l a couple Spotlights to see what one really is.

maybe you shoulda captioned the topic "Failed Runner-Up" or something... Looks okay but not fantastic from the pic.

It's quite disappointing to see so many people submitting low- quality parks and designs to Corky and Kumba.

You've got some self esteem issues to work out there, sir.

I'm sure he has... and anyway, Rhynos, are you saying that looking at other spotlight parks will make yours one? I didn't know it worked that way...

I'd rather look at this from a brighter prospective. The way I see it, more 'low quality' parks as you call them = more discussion & parkmaker's advice. Discussion & advice = better parks and potential parkmakers. Better parks and potential parkmakers = a better New Element community.

So, I think that instead of complaining about situation, we should try giving helpful advice and constructive criticism to help improve 'low quality' RCT builders' skills.

Now, this is going to sound totally hypocritical, but I was unable to open the park and won't be able to comment much. Sorry Tornado6. Well, it looks to me like the ideas there, but you just need to expand on them. This includes ride/path interaction, custom supporting and stations, and themed queues. I can see that the front of the park has two main themes, an icy one and a western one. However, the 7x60 strip of land in the back of the park looks like it doesn't have a theme, and two rides were thrown in there for the sake of it. I think that, when looking through spotlight parks, you should observe and take note on their foliage. In this park, there are places that have trees, but need more; and there are also places that have trees, but need less (Specifically the big clump of 8 big bushy trees by the water ride).

I hope that this helps. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work in the future.

Thanks for the advice. I may try a 50x50 this time. Also, do you think the mine train coaster would have made a good design?
  • RCTNW%s's Photo
Only you can answer that question as it’s your park! Don’t build to try and win a design or spotlight. Build for the enjoyment. You will have better results and will be more fun for you.

Also, the coaster type does not make a difference. The quality of the design is what matters

I see where you're going. At least we have people building and advertising.

I said for him to look at Spotlights not because looking at them will guaranty him such a park, but rather to look at what makes a Spotlight a Spotlight. It's also helpful in gathering ideas and having the surprise of a new idea somewhere.

The thing is, everybody started out like this, he just found NE and submitted his stuff before we found it, so we had more time to practice. He's exactly like us (or at least you), just at a much earlier stage than when we found NE.

    ^You're saying it's a good start, correct?

I thought I exported objects. The game must have missed something.

I'm not saying it's a good start, but it is a stage everyone goes through. Right now, I'm working on a submission for PT3 and that's a good start to parkmaking. It really is a good submission. Better than the topic I have right now.
