The new No. 1 on my list. No, I am not talking about wooden coasters, I am talking about my overall list. Goliath, EGF, Colossos, ... - - - forget them. No chance against this one.
It is such a great ride, smooth, but still the wooden out-of-control-feeling, an innovative layout and a lot of fun. GCII kicks ass. Need to go there again soon, though I have been riding all Saturday and Sunday, and pray for rain. Never seen people standing in front of a Coaster and cheering as loud just because it starts to rain. Even the GCII people were cheering and went riding.

And finally the best about the weekend, I talked to Clair Hain Jr, President of GCII, Chris Gray, chief-engineer of this ride, the person responsible for the trains and the owner of the company building up this one for half an hour or even more. They are real cool guys and it is a lot of fun to talk to the persons who just finished a hell of a ride and make jokes about other companies from Switzerland and their rides. ;)

Come here and ride this one. Let me know when you are going and I will try to make it. The season pass is definitely worth it.
Anybody been to Powerpark, Finland yet? Thunderbird looks like another masterpiece of GCII.

Planing my trip to Finland now,
    Magnus

That sound awesome man. Happy to hear that that coaster is a good ride. Also very sweet how you got to meet all of those people. GCI's are nice coasters. Both Wildcat and Lightning Racer at Hershey Park are very good wooden coasters. Dont suprise me that this one was good as well.

    Looks like an insane coaster.

Question though. I'm a little confused due to my n00b like coaster knowledge. Why would you want it to rain? Do the trains go quicker in the wet? Come to think of it seem to remember something similar @ Nemesis when I rode it once.

Since it's only a 20 minute druve from here I should go there somewehre soon, but I don't know how to get there...

You can get from Sevenum to Toverland by bus now. Check their homepage and you should find all the information you need.

    @ deano:
You are right, the coaster is getting faster during and after the rain. Wheels and rails are made of steel and when those are wet there is hardly any friction as the track is very slippery.
You should try to get a ride on the coasters in the afternoon when it is warm aswell. One might think there is no major difference, but I know from the Black Mamba that is gets up to 10 seconds faster in the afternoon than it is on the first rides in the morning.

Yeh that makes sense. I think on Nemesis I got the first three rides of the day (just get off, pretend to put your bag on the side and get back on as a single rider everytime!) and the third was noticeably quicker as the trains had presumably warmed the track up.

According to the NS site a trainticket from Eindhoven to Horst-Sevenum and back is only 7,20 (with reduction).. Sounds interesting.. Maybe I'll go there this summer...

It'll become really rough and get a "classic" wooden feel soon enough (break your neck). But it looks smooth for now.

    ^Not really.
I have ridden 5 or so year old GCI's, that don't run any rougher than their first year.

That really depends on how well they maintain the ride.
Mr. Hain Jr. told me that he is training the Toverland engineers at the moment how to do the job correctly. Once there is a bump they need to take down the steel pieces from the track, work on the wooden structure and put up the steel pieces again. If they do it correctly it will last for a long time. Hopefully Toverland knows what they are doing as this is their first big coaster.
It also depends a lot on the trains. The ones GCII is using seem to be really good. From what I heard their rides can stay smooth for a long time.

I'm going to Toverland Wednesday :) I really want to check out Troy.

Yeah, the coaster looks awesome, too bad it doesn't look like I'll be in the Netherlands anytime soon. Oh, also, when I went to rcdb.com to look up more information on the coaster, it was the random coaster on the front page. Pretty crazy, huh?
