Sorry if this has been mentioned before or anything, and apologies in advance for how hard this is gonna be to explain.
Has anyone had a problem where extra rides that you started building, but deleted, or duplicates of your rides are made?
I've been messing around in RCT2 and when trying to merge a coaster, the game duplicated the coaster I was building (Let's call it "FLYER") and the pieces I wanted to merge (Let's call it "PRETZEL LOOP"). Now, when I go into 8cars to edit the raise the piece of track up to perform the merge, there are 2 FLYERs and 2 PRETZEL LOOPs. Now, the first of each one weren't actually the right coaster types. They both said they were Stand-up Steel Twisters or something similar with some other stats that were completely off. Editting these had no effect on the coasters in game. The second ones were the actual rides, and editting them worked fine.
Now onto the more pressing problem. Say, for example, I wanted to build some trackitechture in the park. I start building with a certain coaster, and then decide that coaster track isn't right. I delete the ride, and go for something else. I repeat this with quite a few coasters in a few place. Now, when I look at the ride list in-game, the coaster names come up, for example "Heartline Twister 1". I click on it and get an error trapper, thus closing the game. There's quite a few of these and I'm worried that a) they will take up all of the ride slots (this applies to both bugs) and more importantlythe problems just gonna worsen until I will constantly get error trappers.
Any fixes, insights into these problems?

honestly I don't think I've ever heard of this before, in either game... have you done any strange hacking recently, something unique or maybe just a lot of heavy hacking specifically dealing with rides? J/w as it would obviously help to figure out a source (although you haven't mentioned anything).
Ummmm.... as far as undoing it now.... I have no clue unless you could use a hex editor to either clone it to something and then remove it (dont' even know if that's possible... although if it's looking like you aren't finding anything you talk to darkfire he may just let you use a test version of rct2 codex that I know is floating around... that might have a simple clone function that I know can remove troublesome objects in LL at least).
And um... is it just taking a slot in 8Cars or is it taking up a ride slot in the Ride List tab as well... do they seem to be counting in the ride count? Are there visible signs of these extra rides anywhere or are they just taking up slots in general? -

I've done some merging, quite a lot of track building with zero clearances and some raise/lowering of track height all using 8cars.
Anyway, as an update, I've managed to get rid of most of the unnecesary and duplicate rides. Sometimes you get error trappers, sometimes you don't. There is only one left that I cannot delete now, which is a duplicate of some trackitecture. You can't actually see it in game or anything, but it is there in the ride list on both 8cars and in game. Every time i click on it, i get the error trapper. I just have to avoid it I guess.
OLE, thanks for the insight. In both instances, the duplicates/non-existant rides are in both the 8cars ride list and the in-game ride list. -

Great, it seems that now I've deleted the duplicate of "FLYER", the ride name has been eradicated and replaced with a blank space. Whatever I type in to name the ride, it stays blank.
