Pro Tour 3 / PT3 predictions

Now that Emergo's list of people is pretty well set. I'm usually terrible at these kinds of thing... here's my wild stab at it (only took people on the yes list of Emergo's). And what the hell, I'll add a little of what I expect from these people.



1. Fatha'- says he wants the money and most people like his current style, I think his entry should appeal to all the judges be they fantasy or realism lovers

2. Corkscrewed- cant' remember if we've heard anything about him entering yet but if he does I expect it will be with a vengeance after his narrow loss last pt... still don't see him winning though (sorry buddy )

3. egg_head- if he gets an entry in it should be a stunning entry, but don't forget that IF

4. Ride6- if he puts all his skill into an entry (which I'm not sure if he will) I fully expect him to place near where he did last time, maybe better

5. Kumba- has hinted that he has an idea that he can run with further than he did with Memory Lane last year, pretty reliable to enter so I expect a top 10 placement at least

6. JK- teetering on the edge of becoming a Parkmaker and should achieve that status if he gets an entry in, should be great as well

7. John- if he enters it will be very beautiful and very sparse and located in the 10-5 range

8. 5Dave- a very popular up and coming who will probably grab the first or second non Parkmaker spot and a top 10 (maybe even 5)

9. Xcoaster- probably a little low but I feel that he will be a little more dramatic version of cBass last year (due to more entries), with his own hype working against him... then again he could amaze us all again with another top 3 entry...

10. Magnus- wants to enter and has for a while I think, will probably pull some cool shit like The Genesis again and a top 10 spot as well

11. Metropole- will make a nice entry but I don't know if he can make a top 10

12. Pyro Penguin- hasn't played in a while so he may be a little rusty but if he does enter it will place high

13. Levis- will make some very unique hacks and crazy rides which will be very fun to look at but his overall execution of ideas is holding him back from the top 10

14. FK+Coastermind- has skills and if he does his best I think he'll be near the middle somewhere

15. Fish- if he can finish he'll be between 15 and 10

16. OLE- I hope to get an entry in although my crawling build speed and lack of experience may prevent this, if I do my best I expect to place around here

17. Gwazi- the only other possible LL entry besides me I think, should do fairly well but still needs to refine his style a bit

18. Peeee- beat out some tough competition to get here but his entry still had some major flaws in my eyes and I think he'll be near the top of the last 5

19. Mifune- don't really know what to expect from him, will place around here I think

20. JDP- a reliable person here these days and one of the few people who has finished a steady stream of projects, still needs to refine his skills a lot though

21. zodiac- a slightly weaker version of JDP

22. Xin- sorry buddy but based on your prelim entries this is where I expect you... you seem determined though so hopefully you can prove us all wrong...


Other possible entrants (on maybe list)

Jazz- I expect a 15-5 entry from him if he gets one in (which is likely), his skills have improved since last time so he could do quite well

Ling- not sure what game he'd even enter in, but most likely a last 5 entrant.... has come a ways but still needs work

Steve- well... if he enters I think he'll place in the top 5 without a doubt, if he enters

Evil WME- VERY slim chance but if he does it will place high

lucas- not on my list because I have no clue what to expect... based on the couple of screens in the dump place I'd say a place around 15 or 16 though


Overall Expectations- This will probably be a PT that is a bit bottom heavy with quite a skill gap between the top 12 or so and the rest. All the main up and comings (egg, JK, 5Dave and Levis) are very solid players and most below them are fairly mediocre. We could see some people sneak in higher though and maybe some dark horses pop up. If everyone brings their best it should be a very competitive PT and there should be some great entries.

^No, I think that Fatha' will be down a few spots. I think somebody can do better. Something like this:

3. Fatha'
4. More people (10 or 12)
5. Me
6. The last person

Yes, I put myself second to last, because I really think that someone will do worse, or not finish.

I expect to be the PT2's cBass, but for PT3. So in short, while I did well in the previous PT, and I'll still make a very solid entry, it won't be that innovative and won't place that high. Now I'll probably like my entry quite a bit, (see, because I rather liked cBass' last entry, and I'm this year's cBass, so I'll like my own entry), but everyone else will probably remember my other work more. But, you never know. Maybe I'll start picking up the pace and have time to cram enough details in that it forms some kind of Rct2 singularity and devours the entire site with it's detailed awesomeness, and then the whole internet too. But probably not.

But I'll probably revise that later. I doing this based mostly on the amount of boasting and who I remember is entering off the top of my head.

For the people in the definately entering list:

1. Fatha' - Reckon he'll win this one, coz I think he can pull off his theme really well, and blow our mind with his ideas.
2. Egghead - Placed him really high coz I reckon he has the goods
3. John - Reckon he can make a beautiful entry and place really high
4. Ride6 - I really like this guys style, and he just keeps getting better. Can definately see him placing high
5. Xcoaster - For reasons above, I didn't place him really high, but I still think his entry will be great
6. Pyro - Dunno how his work will convert into the new "style" of NE, could do really well with something quite different
7. 5Dave - Loved his bridge prelim, could definately pull off some really neat entry
8. Magnus - Definately a great parkmaker, hope to see an entry from him
9. Kumba - Don't think he'll put his all into this entry and it might become a memory lane 2, but will be good regardless
10. Fish - Should place nice and high
11. FK Coastermind - Don't know much about this guy, as with all of the ones I have placed below, but looks pretty good
12. JK - Nice parkmaker, just not sure if he wow in a PT
13. Levis - Amazing at hacking, but I just don't think he's quite got the parkmaking skills down yet
14. Gwazi - Same case as JK really
15. Peee - Not a bad parkmaker, should put out something nice
16. JDP - Don't really know much about this guy
17. Zodiac - Same as above
18. Xin - Hope he proves everyone wrong and doesn't place last
19. MiFune - Just because I'm predicting Xin not to come last

As for myself, I'm hoping to place in the top 10 somewhere, though there is tough competition.

Why is Fatha' #2 now? Well I don't think it helps him in anyway that we all know what he's doing. Sure we can't see it, but we still know and it takes away a lot of surprise factor. Xcoaster on the other hand seems to have a great idea and took full advantage of the bonus bench requests, so consider Xcoaster armed and dangerous. Pyro is the only person who can claim to have never released anything less then a spotlight, however he's never proved himself as a master of RCT2 and I don't think he can outstrip the likes of the two I have listed above him. Egg has so much skill and speed I think he should place above all other non-NE Parkmakers. Metro really wants to enter and has a style many love, he should make top 5. As for myself I am making something really nice... but limited in wow factor. It could remind some people of contest entries natelox has made in the past

it would be really hard for me to say who i think will go where. first there is so much skill and most people can be put into clumps with other people of the same level IMO making it hard to sort them. also alot depends on who builds to their full potential and who doestn. i really dont think i could put down a serious list of who i think will place where.

I was reminiscing on some PT3 stuff, and I happened to notice this topic. I find it particularly funny that only seven people actually turned something in. We suck at predicting.
