After wasting about an hour of my life, here's my list. Yes, there are plenty of omissions and I will probably be unhappy with it right after I post this. I will give a track by track description at some point, I hope. Cheers. I would like to see some lists from some other people, too. I decided it would be easier to do this than rank my top albums, so that is why I thought about it and laid out my favorites.

Its too hard to follow your list...its set up really poorly.
But I noticed One by U2, great song. I think Fascination Street is overrated though -

I fixed up the formatting, so it is easier, hopefully.
I agree that One is a great song. U2 shouldn't really get shit for any of their pre-97 or so recordings.
And of course I disagree about Fascination Street. I don't know of a better song that encapsulates the lusting mood like it does. The bass line is driving, the guitars swirling, and the drums are commanding. The build and total composition is also strong, and in general, the song is a testament to a concise, yet spacious production. I'm sure you have your reasons, though.
And I know my list is quite unbalanced. I had many other artists included on the thing on my original brainstorm, but I couldn't choose individual songs by Sigur Ros (for example) or I couldn't quite justify saying that I like any Smashing Pumpkins (for example) song more than I do these. I also recognize my musical exposure is extremely limited. -

Eh oh well, it seems diverse enough.
Every Breath You Take is an absolutely amazing song as well, one of my all time favs
and Disintegration is a stunning song
To be honest I like U2's pre 1997 recordings more than anything they did after that. Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby, and Boy are all classics -

Damn, that was tough. Why 50 though? Why not "Top 10?" 50 songs made it difficult to choose favorites.
Tried to give the list some variety (I like a variety of rock styles), and like postit, I'll probably regret my decisions later.Edited by Xin, 21 September 2007 - 04:24 PM.
