Sorry for yet another 'I need help' topic, but I'm about 80% through my current park and am just making it nice and peepable, but I've started to encounter a problem with several of my coasters.
Basically what happens is that the trains get stuck at a block brake, despite the block brake ahead being free... example picture:
It seems to happen randomly, for no reason at all... Most of the times, the train just moves onto the empty block brake, but occasionally, it just stays stuck on its current brake. The coasters have NOT broken down.
Any ideas how to resolve this problem? Thanks a lot!

I am having this problem alot lately too, in one of my solos also. Only thing I can do is reset the coaster, kicking everyone of the ride and out of line, which crowds the midways. -

yeah I have that problem too...
In my peep-friendly park which is full of people atm, so that's kinda annoying...
Resetting helps, althought the peeps get annoyed when they're stuck in the coaster or in the queue... lol
Strange problem, it just occured in that park so far.

I've got this problem to, I notice it sometimes happends if you have zero clearence on, so dont bother with it that much and just reset the ride once in a time. -

So what, there's no real way round it, other than resetting the ride? As mentioned above, it's pretty annoying when you have to constantly monitor the rides to check for this, and if it occurs, to then reset the ride and force all the guests out of the line. It's happening pretty frequently at the moment tooAny suggestions?

^Maybe just leave the ride closed and open it again before you finish the whole park.
I dunno any other way.

If anyone's interested, I've sort of got a solution to this. I think the problem is caused by zero clearancing. However, if you restore clearances, reset all the rides, save the game then quit RCT2 altogether... when you next open the saved game, the problem will not occur until you again use the Zero Clearances function. So the bug will still effectively be lurking, but you will need to use the Zero Clearance feature to activate it. -

Thats not really a fix, cause it was only happening when I used 0-clearances, and since I am constantly using it when theming my rides, its not much help. But thanks for the effort.
The only real fix would be to get it to stop happening when you 0-clearances. -

Well yeh, but what I was trying to get at is that once you've finished your park, if someone downloads it and opens the file, the block brakes problem won't occur unless they use zero-clearances. -

^Maybe use the new version of 8-Cars.

doesn't make any diffrence
it just has something to do with the block brake being zero clearenced, it sometimes doesn't work right than (haven't really figured out when it does and when it doesn't). -

When you close it pause it before, double close, open and pause again (unpausing it). The peeps stay in the q making hem happy.
Hope it helps, and sorry for the bump -

is there a clearer way to explain that because im thick =] -

1. pause game
2. double close ride
3. open ride again
4. unpause game
Result: The coaster is reset, but peeps in the queue will remain waiting for the ride. -

I have now figured this out.
The problem occurs when you have absloute zero clearances on and you are building path. Only happens whn you are building path above or on the same landtile as the coaster it self. Im pretty sure this is the problem, after many test.
It also happens with shops, when your building path with absolute zero clearance and you put path over the EXACT same square as the shop it self, the shop can not be accessed.
Hope it helps
Resseting also works
