Well, looks like State fucked up again on national tv. We played zone defense all night and let them throw the ball and easily pick of first downs. Our coaching staff just doesn't realize it's not working and they make zero adjustments. Highlight of the game:

I sit in the student section where the K is. It was an electric atmosphere up until the 2nd half when we came out of the locker room dead. Ahhhh its tough being a Pack fan...at least basketball season is starting up soon.

    Fucking Texas.

You guys are really impressive. The team with the second hardest schedule in the country might very well make it through undefeated, which I did not think was possible.

Still would like another shot at Texas, that was a great game. But I definitely did not expect you guys to handle Mizzou the way you did, very impressive. As much as I am rooting for some of these other South teams to trip the Longhorns up I just don't see who could do it.

    ahahaha... Mizzou

    I love jokes

wow wtf i can't believe this is not making bigger news.
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
LMAO, I can't believe that's [apparently] real! Why would a ref try to tackle a player in full gear? lolol

Maybe the old man had a flashback to his high school days as a linebacker. And it wasn't much of a tackle, more of a block...

We can't even beat Purdue... Let it all go in the forth quarter...

At least when Michigan was losing at the beginning of the year we weren't getting completely outplayed. It seems as the offense gains consistency the defense looses it. WTF!?

If we can't put Purdue down this year with Minnesota, Northwestern, and Ohio State left... We're going to loose out the season now. I can see it... 2-10... I think that might be the worst record in school history; tried to find evidence via google but ended up with a pile of bitching about this year (in general) and last years season opening loss.

I realize the team is mostly young and inexperienced. I realize it's a new system. I realize it would've been a rough year even if Lloyd still ran the program. But come on. I now also realize that Wisconsin was a lucky fluke and that "rebuilding" this program is going to take until my Senior or Super Senior year... This isn't the Big East Rich. The Big 10 may be a middle-grade conference (below the Big 12 and SEC, if not the PAC 10 even) but you're losing to teams (Toledo!?) that aren't even BCS!!!! If these losses continue for a second season we're going to loose our recruiting base and start all over... I still be buying tickets for next year; but it better be a turn around.

:( We got robbed on that holding call. Oh well if we win out and win the Big 12 Championship we should still have a chance at a bid for the NC.

i cant believe how bad georgia played yesterday. florida literally raped us. with how well we've been playing this season, i was full on expecting a decent win over florida. instead, staffords passes were either intercepted or fumbled and moreno was kept locked down by floridas defense. i gotta give props to fla's tebow, he did play a good game. i watched the whole thing but after half time we decided to make it a drinking party just to forget how bad the game was goin.

I'm afraid the UC -Pitt game will be overshadowed by certain other epic events this weekend.
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
I'm sorry... Big East what? :p Although at least you're not the ACC--the conference no one wants to win. You'd think that they'd be afraid of a stomping by a real BCS Conference Champion, but the ACC Champ is only going to play the Big East Champ in the Orange Bowl. The two weakest BCS Conference champs will neutralize each other.

Meanwhile, I'll be rooting for OU this Saturday against Texas Tech--only because of that tiny spark that still hopes USC can sneak its way into the BCS title game. Not that we've played well enough to deserve to be on the high level of the top 5, but I know we wouldn't lay an egg in the big Bowl game. :D

I'm sorry....was that a queue for me to speak up???? :p

Well, after our pouncing from USC, I have to say we have played 'pretty' good this year. I'm hoping we go to the Rose Bowl so we can have revenge :D Michigan State has to come through for us though and beat Penn State this weekend...I'd also say we have to beat Michigan but that is kind of a given :bunny:

As for UC vs Pitt, I hope I can watch that...I'm a huge UC fan as well, and my son Adam (not the one you know) is going to UC now and plans on going to their bowl game if they win...I'm not sure how he is going to do that....but that's what he says...

I have a feeling he will be home this weekend with his hand out

I hope Texas Tech wins, btw....but you know...that is just how I am :mantis:

You know it’s a sad when the only BCS team that is winless (University of Washington Huskies) goes on the road to another BSC team and is favored by 7 points. How can that be!

Collage football in the state of Washington is down right abysmal! Take our two teams (WSU Cougars) and UW Huskies. How bad is it you ask? Lets look shall we, combined 2009 record – 1-19. Both have not won a game against another BCS opponent since the last time they met last year WSU Won that game (Apple Cup) btw and the only reason that will end this weekend is because they play each other!

However, you would think that even as bad is these two teams are, that WA would have some other form of winning team in other major sports. Lets take a look at that.

2008 Mariners – 101 Loses and second worst record on the American League. Also first team in history to spend 100 Million and have 100 losses! Special!
2009 Sonics – Of that’s right, they left town for Oklahoma City
    2008 – 2009 Seahawks – 2 wins

What’s really sad is that all 5 of these teams have been to the post season this decade and to see them all drop like this is astounding!

I will now go and hang my head in shame!

    BTW – Go Huskies! (sad)

At least the ACC is fun to watch, and that's more than can be said about other conferences. The big game is this week...NC State at UNC. I can't wait for the Pack to crush the most arrogant fanbase in sports.

    OH MY EFFING GAWD!!!!

Pyro, you know what I'm talking about. That just shot Oklahoma up to the #2 spot in the nation. And I know there will be controversy because Texas did beat them, but when you have a rock-paper-scissors bout, and the rock demolished the scissors, you give the nod to the rock, because even though it did get wrapped up by paper last time, it was putting some strain on it, and you get the feeling that if they played again, rock might just rip a hole through paper as well.

At least it took care of one thing: Texas Tech does NOT deserve to play in the National Championship game and may not even deserve to be in a BCS game. I don't care how good your record is. Lose by 41 pts anytime in the season, and that should automatically eliminate you from a good Bowl game.

Here's what I'm thinking will happen in the BCS:

    CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
    1. Oklahoma vs 2. Florida

    ROSE BOWL:
    Penn State vs Oregon State

    ORANGE BOWL:
    Cincinatti vs Whoever-Decides-It-Actually-Wants-to-Win-the-ACC

    SUGAR BOWL:
    Alabama vs USC/Texas

    FIESTA BOWL:
    USC/Texas vs Utah

If Oregon State loses against Oregon, THEN you're probably looking at either Boise State or Ohio State getting in [undeservedly IMO]. I'd put Texas Tech ahead of those two, despite their shellacking tonight. And if Missouri shockingly ends up winning the Big XIII, then that'll throw everything off and will either let Texas sneak through or even possibly USC sneak in.

But right now, the BCS Bowl picture is surprisingly clear... and actually not as convoluted as I was expecting. At least IMO.
  • gir%s's Photo
I sure hope the Rose Bowl isn't Penn State v. Orgeon State. Penn State v. USC would be far more interesting.

And for those that don't know, NC State fucked up UNC, real bad. What a satisfying win. Butch Davis apparently doesn't know the meaning of a rivalry game, and as far as I'm concerned he can stay in Chapel Hell as long as he wants.

I'm so happy right now. God yesterday was awesome. And I called the polls too, I knew we would pass Florida and be #2 in the Coaches but just pass Texas in the Harris. As long as we win next week we go the Kansas City to play Mizzou, who runs a poor man's version of the Texas Tech offense. That game was just so much fun to watch. I have never seen that level of intensity or excitement from an OU team before. The defense played downright mean, they were just destroying people. It is good to see them finally gelling, and this is without a couple of starters. We are actually pretty banged up on D. Just so happy.
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
Ya know, Pyro, if you'd had this defense a few years ago, you wouldn't have lost 55-19. :p

^^ If Oregon State wins out, they're the co-Pac 10 champs w/ 'SC (assuming 'SC also wins out) but will hold the tiebreaker. Hence, they will go to the Rose Bowl over USC unless they lose to Oregon next Saturday and USC beats UCLA. That's how it works, period. If the Rose Bowl was based on interest, you wouldn't have seen USC rape Illinois last year.

And yeah... NC State... good job! Way to show UNC they're still just a basketball school.
