Oh well. I stopped riding corkscrew years ago cos it always gave me a headache.

I rode it once back in 2005 and I didn't like it very much, but it is an important ride in Alton Towers' history. I'll miss it therefore.
    Corkscrew, RIP!

Really? A cookie cutter coaster is an important piece of the parks history?

I hate to debate with a soldier (thank you by the way), but

Really? A cookie cutter coaster is an important piece of the parks history?

Corkscrew is a steel roller coaster made by Vekoma of the Netherlands. The coaster is located in the Ug Land area of Alton Towers in Staffordshire, England. It is the park's oldest ride and, as one of the first British steel coasters, as well as the first double-looping coaster in Europe, received much publicity in the 1980s. However, at approaching thirty years old, the ride is now notorious for jerking rider's heads and necks in the firm headrests - riders often complain of slight neck pains after riding.

The park is opening on the 9th November for everyone to get their last rides. If you're looking at going on that day, check this topic:
