Ask the Experts / 8 Cars Major Merging Problem

So, whenever I seem to merge using 8 Cars, it works and everything, but the track I'm using becomes "unusable."



I can't go up, down, or use barely any of the special elements.


Whenever I try to click on the cars, I get this error message-




Also, after I merge, this is what happens to 8 cars. I can't choose the car type.-




So is there something I'm doing wrong? Or a patch I need to install? Please help!

I think it is because 8cars isn't working properly ... Change your skin to classic view and put the UAC off Maybe that helps a bit

UAC? I'm not good at this technical stuff.

User Account Control, you can find it in your control panel (configuratie scherm in dutch, not sure on the translation).

The problem is , Vista is more secured and that way some programss won't work properly, with the UAC off, you don't have that problem.

Vista blocks some functions of programs with the UAC on, like the editing of 8cars in the memory of RCT2, with the UAC off, it doesn't block anymore and you have 8cars working good again then

I would say, try it It works for me (UAC off and classic view(not the windows aero that you have now).

Yet, I'm not on vista. It's the Royale Noir theme for XP. I'll try it anyways though.

EDIT:: I tried changing cars with SoB and that didn't work either. So I think it has something to do with the game itself. Should I reinstall it?

do you have the original rct2 or do you have the one from Thriple Thrill Pack?
the one from TTP is not compatible with the 8cars trainer.
you need to use the no-cd patch than (which will make you lose WW and TT) to be able to use the 8cars trainer than.

I'm using the original, no triple thrill pack.

probally you downloaded both version 1.32 and 1.302 and have them in the same folder with only 1 dll.

Download 1.302 again from this site:
press download on this page
and put that one in a seperate folder (so nothing more in it except the things that are in the rar).
now see if it works.

WHAT?? I didn't know this earlier. I think I found my 8-cars problem. Are there any side effects of using a no-cd patch? (to the game's speed, reliability etc.)

no, if you use the right one there are no side effect except sometimes when you go back to the main menu you can get a message of invalid data. thats because than the game can't load the scenario which runs on the background, but this doesn't make the game crash. and it only happens with some version.

But i've always had TTO and 8 cars has worked fine. It only started stuffing up when i uninstalled modidfied.

Oh and btw i know how to unistall WW and TT of TTP with out uinstalling the original game.

Download RCTM and then unistall it.
