Ask the Experts / Roller Coaster Tycoon Deluxe problems

I finally decided to get my RCTD out after not playing it for over a year. Well I started downloading some of the LL parks here on NE. It seems every park has Invalid data and cant open, I tried using the patch thing but it doesn't work for RCTD. The only thing that works is the unlock all scenarios cheat. If some one could help I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks, G Force

Posix's LL guide states RCTD isnt compatable at NE,

but just in case, are you opening up the game, then going into load game then opening, or going on right click > open with ?

Yes RCT Deluxe is incompatible with the drexler patch.

if you own "rollercoaster tycoon: gold edition" or "rollercoaster tycoon deluxe", which are merely bundles of the two above mentioned, you can run the game but not open the park releases from this site because the "drexler patch" (read about it under 1.3) was never updated to work "gold" or "deluxe".***

i talked to joseph drexler about it but he has no intention of updating the patch. would be great if someone else could try and do it.

i believe when the "gold" and "deluxe" editions came out, they reacted to what was happening in the community to avoid cheating and game alteration. as effectively what the drexler patch does it to enable the opening of parks that used trainers.

How long would it take him to update it. Would it take more than a week, a month 20mins? Oh Well.

I know someone with the origanal RCT and the 2 expansion packs, I'll see if I can have his game. Hes only like 8 so he probably dosent even play it anymore.

What you could do is borrow it, install it, no CD it (guide is here), and then return the disc to your friend.
