Ask the Experts / Importing scenery groups

I imported a scenery group into my park through parkdat and when I opened the game it wasn't there. When I opened Parkdat again to check to make sure I imported it correctly and it said I had that scenery group in my park when it wasn't. Anyone know why???

use "update headers" in parkdat then save it and open it ingame

    Still doesn't work.

check if any object from the scenery group is in the savegame.

There's none in my saved game. It's the SUMMER Pool Pieces pack I wana import.

Did you include the theming tab via Parkdat?
If you had, and it still doesn't show up, you'll have to try to use the editor to open the saved game and include it manually.

Another thing is that even if you DO have the available scenery slots for the objects, the ? tab can only display so many objects. So the objects may be in a sort of "Limbo Overflow". The objects are THERE... they just can't be seen due to the fact that the ? tab has a limitation of displayed objects.

So it's important that the tab for the Summer Pool Pieces is included, so that the objects can be seen, and thusly available.

So check to see if the tab for the pool pieces is visible.

you have to import each scenery object, importing just the tab file alone wont import the whole pack

The objects are already imported via ParkDat. He needs the tab so that the objects are gathered & grouped. Read the entire topic. Don't just jump in on the last post. You've missed 1/2 the conversation, and made me look like an idiot that doesn't know what he's talking about.

well wolfman I think riven is righ and he only imported the dat for the theme and didn't import the objects. else it would work after he imported the group and updated the headers

LOL, I'm pretty sure you did that entirely on your own here. :SA:

    And so are you.

Wolfman, you just proved your the idiot around here again, bug your ass off and go post in a topic you actually have a clue about.

What I suggested worked for me.
Obviously, you have a problem with that.

Bottom line here is.....you have to import the actual objects as well as the scenery group itself. A scenery tab will not show up (and, you might get an error as well) if none of the objects are in the game. And, Wolfman....if YOU had read the entire topic you'd have realized that TTDLOV123 had only imported the scenery group and not the objects. No big....and no need to get all testy.

So tell me... K, What would you think when someone tells you that they imported the scenery group via ParkDat?

Go check it out in the original post of the topic. TTDLOV123 didn't say that he imported the tab. Just the object group. He also said that the group of objects were present, via ParkDat, yet TTDLOV123 couldn't see any of them in the game.

So all he needs it the tab. When I placed a tab in a saved game, the objects of the tab, gets placed into the tab. It works.

You also know that the ? tab can hold a lot more than it can display. Because I've removed DOZENS of objects from the ? tab and other objects appear at the bottom of the ? tab object menu, when I open the saved game again.

You can add tabs via ParkDat. You know it, I know it, and that douche Riven knows it.

I'd think that that person had imported a 'scenery group' without importing any objects that are in the tab.
